It's really solid. It was one of my first loves. Great for the price point, although I don't drink this one enough anymore.

Love it, probably my favorite offering by ST, followed closely by Unearthly.

Yeah I was very impressed with Live as well (great flavor and I love the yeasty-ness in there). Southern Tier IPA, 2XIPA, Live, and Iniquity are all great beers as far as I am concerned. The only beer from them that I haven't liked was Unearthly Ale (too floral and sweet for me) but I can see how others like it.

I bought a 6er of Hop Sun today, and am excited to try one with a burger for dinner. I think that Southern Tier puts out all quality brews, and does a good job sticking to the basics (nothing rediculousliy crazy, but still quality and great tasting beers), and does a great job with it.

I don't know about VA, but in North Jersey Southern Tier is always in stock (Obviously closer to the brewery than you are).

ST 2XIPA was my first double IPA, and I was lucky to have that as my first.

The hop profile of their regular IPA last longer in the bottle. BUT.....if you can get really fresh 2xIPA bottles (within 2 weeks) it's just as good as the draft IMO. I don't know why it falls of so quick in the bottle, but it does.

Southern tier does have a kind of signature sweetness to a lot of their beers. Unearthly has it, this one and back burner to name a few. It reminds me of like a house yeast or a brand like taste that you become familiar with. In a comparison of nugget nectar, 90 minute and 2Xipa I think they are all equally sweet in the same way. For dipa's with the same sweet tooth I can say unearthly, lake erie monster and leviathan.

It is a solid beer for sure, one of my favorites and go-to.

When fresh, this stuff can definitely hang with some of the best.

I have only had a handful from Southern Tier, but I have yet to be disappointed with my purchase.

2XIPA is a great brew, as is there Oak-Aged Backburner.

2XIPA is a great and easy to find (at least in the surrounding area) DIPA. It stands up to many of the super-hyped ones easily, but it's cheaper and easier to find. Plus, almost anything ST makes is awesome.

It's an under appreciated beer, in my opinion. Where I live, it's about the same price as Two Hearted - so it's been a long time since I've been able to talk myself into buying it. But every now and then, when I do end up with a bottle or a pour, I remember that it's a little better than I give it credit for.

I picked some up when I was in Syracuse, and I was very surprised that no one brings this beer up (OK, not no one, since the OP very clearly did). It's got good ratings here, but it seems to fly under the radar. I thought it was very tasty!

Had it last wknd on tap. Maybe long run or old keg but too malty. Agree with their single IPA as better offering. Many better more hop fwd doubles. Sorry to be neg on the string.

It's okay but many are better of the style, try the Harvest ale wich will be coming out in the not to distant future, you might like that better and you can drink more of it because of the ABV.

There is almost nothing like Harvest. Great Divide Wet Hop is close.

2XIPA is a very good beer for the price and a regular at my house.
