Hey BAs, Will be making a trip up to Vermont this weekend and will be staying in Stowe, VT. I was wondering if anyone knew of some good places I should stop by near there. (Not really looking asking about restaurants and bars). As of now I am going to Hill Farm and Alchemist.. Thanks!
If you don't mind (about) an hour drive, then the Vermont Beverage Warehouse is in Winooski. Just hop back on the I-89 and head north. It's the largest bottle shop in state (IIRC) and has an incredible selection. If you're looking for something specific in Stowe/Waterbury area, then there's some smaller ones with good selections such as Stowe Beverage but if you have time, I highly recommend heading up to Winooski. Eventually, Craft Beer Cellar will be opening a shop in Waterbury.
I had a good experience in Stowe Beverage. Picked up some HT and Backwoods Bastard when I was there, and the rest of the selection looked really decent.
Thanks guys.. I am up here now and trying to find some bottles from Hill Farm that they may not carry at their shop currently..
Hill Farmstead doesn't distribute bottles to any stores (that I'm aware of). (Except a couple of extremely rare instances in past and maybe some local stores in Greensboro or Hardwick) You need to buy HF bottles at HF brewery.
Also, check out Grassroots Brewing (http://www.hillfarmstead.com/grassrootsbrewing/). It's a Hill Farmstead brand (I'm not sure of technical term there, but 'brand' seems to be the most appropriate to me). It should be distribute and found in most beverage stores which has good/higher end beer. Winooski's Vermont Beverage Warehouse usually has some Grassroots on most days I visit.
You won't have any luck with that, unfortunately. Stowe Beverage is your best bet for a good selection in the immediate area.
Sorry for not replying! I have been out and about here. Yes you guys are right on. Talked with people there too. I visited Hill Farm and stopped at Beverage Warehouse. Thanks James. It wasn't too bad of a drive.
I have seen that in several shops Ive been to today, just haven't been interested in buying that one.
