Someone who has done some testing. I can see your point on different lines. I would want to see data for a 12 oz. can vs 12 oz bottle. Just someone who had to deal with data his whole life.

At a friends house several of us did blind triangle tasting of cans vs bottles for 2 different breweries. We all picked the can beers to be what we preferred. CO2 was not different enough for anyone to comment.

    Gotcha.
I think the main thing to take away from this post is you're wrong. Which is ok. You should have seen the post I made about Evil Twin a number of months ago. Man, that thing was a mess.

Take your lumps, lick your wounds, and move on.

I guess my feelings have no basis for comment... I will take my lumps and admit, that despite my definite perceivable difference in my mouth, there is absolutely no difference between bottles and cans in terms of carbonation...

I have sworn off bottles as I have now been made aware that I should believe cans are acutally superior in all ways for beer storage...

prosit!!! (im drinking my first Sam Adams Oktoberfest of the year.... out of a CAN!!!)

now if I could only find my favorite Merlot packaged in a superior 12 oz. can........

one final note, is that some have suggested that the way a beer is poured from a can vs. a bottle could be the difference, the turbulance being different...

i must therefore give props to the BMC revival of the punch top air hole on the Miller Lite can... an obvious improvement in the pour characteristics of a can...

Take your wine key and punch a hole just like the BMC cans.

So you asked this same question in Oct 2012... and now you ask again, but still disagree with the overwhelming majority of answers you get. I suggest you let it die for now, and ask again in 2014...

Is anyone else going to say it or do I have to?

This this this. I LOVE SNPA out of a can. It is the creamiest beer I know and its frickin SNPA, the gateway beer. Gosh every time I try this beer it blows me away. I definitely take this beer for granted (probably the only beer I take for granted).

So that's what I didn't like about SNPA in a can! It was creamy!:stuck_out_tongue: The bottled version is crisper...

How come no one is complaining about tap versions being flatter that either cans or bottles? For flavor I would be happy to have a fresh keg version, but if you really want it sudsy, I find the can or bottle is USUALLY preferable to tap. Ain't sayin' always.

When I am desperate, sometime I throw some hop pellets into a glass of heavy whipping cream and a shot of everclear to replicate SNPA. Give it a try, basically the same thing!

    I love canned beer btw.

And you can find 12 packs for 12-13 bucks at a freakin gas station or 7-11. Hard to beat that.

sorry, i don't post regularly and don't anally keep track of my posts... i revisited can beer and didn't enjoy it... just ignore my profile and you won't have to be so bothered and will have more time to hype up your conquests in the daily what you are drinking threads that you seem to like......

Well, here's my 2 cents worth. When I drink from a bottle the beer seems to "taste" different than when drinking from a can. If I pour into a glass and let it form a head, they both seem to taste the same. These days, I pour it into a glass and add an ice cube. But, when drinking from the container, I prefer bottled over canned

Would it taste different if you drank it out of a toilet bowl? Enquiring frat minds want to know...

or just stop drinking canned beer, if you know you don't enjoy it, whether anyone else can taste a difference or not. I'm not "anally keeping track" of your posts either, just went looking for prior discussion on the topic to see what had been discussed in the past, and I saw your prior post was the most recent discussion of the topic.

You say "conquests," I say "variety." po-TAY-to, po-TAA-to. Not hyping, simply participating. Trying cans, bottles, whatever. Tick, tick, tick.

and from the "hype" forum.... a can of example...

Sounds good to me I enjoy beers with less carbonation. Haven't done any side by side comparing though.
