No, not backwards. Distances that people consider to be "next door" in Wisconsin are far greater than what people consider to be "next door" in Chicago suburbs. I've lived in both...

You know, I had really been struggling to figure out why I had voted for Obama. I just couldn't put my finger on it...
But DAMN! You bust in here with the logic that I have been missing all these years. It was the G.D. New Glarus beer! Dan and Deb have turned me into a liberal Zombie that can't stop drinking their amazing beer and voting for... well enough of that nonsense.

Glad you enjoyed the visit OP. Please come back soon!

Sorry, mixup with Central Waters. I'm in Point right now, so let's just pretend I was referring to that.

Besides that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the show?

New Glarus is fan-friggin-tastic. One of the best tours out there I think and love being able to meander around beer in hand.

I could care less who they donate too, as long as it's not communists overseas. Both parties here suck.

Keep politics outta mah beer. +1 to everything else in OP.

Unfortunately that's how it seems to be in the industry. Luckily, West Michigan is extremely conservative, so regardless of the brewery owners' political views, I'm living the area they serve and feel right at home :-)

My vote is for more Wild Sour Ale. I bet that could win a congressional seat. Write in anyone?

Funny -- While looking for the 2014 beer ballot on the NG website (somehow I missed the banner in the middle of the page), I found this.

I like to think they built the entire beer garden then hired former pilots to bomb it so it had that natural wwII feel to it

Politics may be hands down the best thing to discuss on the internet, the arguments are always so factual and civilized it is truly is joy when you stumble upon one like this. Please carry on guys, I can't wait to be blown away by the revelations we will all read here on the only place real political discourse should be done...on a beer forum

Seriously? I've been to quite a few micros and brewpubs and met most of the proprietors and employees, I don't recall ever meeting anyone I'd consider a jerk. Albeit, I've not been to every brewery, so I imagine there can be schmucks -- just like anywhere, but it always amazes me how cool the members of the industry are.

If you ever go to Munich, there are some photos of how the city looked after WWII in the City Museum. It was heavily damaged. Talked to an old woman in a coffee shop once while waiting for Oktoberfest to begin, it was rather sobering to hear what she experienced.

    Lol at this whole thread.

I don't drink NG beer because they have a beer called "Two Women".

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO EXPLAIN THAT BEER TO MY KIDS?!

They were know. To be the largest Obama donor in the state of Wisconsin. I'd be glad to research and link that tonight. Something tells me these donations were likely a bit unbalanced. That said, I love their beer and will keep drinking it every chance I get. The Berliner Weisse and the Wild Ale are both amazing.
