Saw cases of it at Riley's when I stopped by today. They have really stocked up for this coming weekend.
Was at Woodman's west side yesterday. The only Wild Sour Ale's I saw available were in the singles (3 bucks per bottle). No 4 pcks spotted except for the Berliner - which there were plenty of!
hehehe - when I went up to Lake Geneva late last month I made a stop at a local shop there. A couple guys from Illinois were loading a few cases of NG into their car. When I asked them if any of it was sour they said they grabbed the only 2 that were left. When I went in to get some the shop owner said that was the last he had and all of his sour disappeared unlike other seasonals in the past.
My tip is to check the grocery stores. The liquor stores get cleaned out, but it lingers for a while at grocery stores like Copps, Sentry, even Hyvee to some extent.
I headed over to Oregon after New Glarus this morning and cleared out the two stores in town. And by clear out I mean two 4-packs at the liquor store and the last one at the grocery store there, so I lucked out finding those three. Amazing how this stuff has vanished. At the brewery today the helpful girl passing out tickets said they weren't sure if even they were going to have any more as everything may have already been committed to distribution.
I just noticed a bottle my WSA had a 1783 stamped on the lower part of the neck. That would be June 27. This is the first time I have seen a bottle date on a NG beer. How long have they been doing this? I just checked a Berliner and it is stamped 1093, April 19.
