Glad things are working out for you mamagoose. I always enjoy your posts. I just took a pay cut and quit the job I have been at for 3 years for an entry level packaging position at a local brewery. Its not always about the money.

I understand that this is a generational difference, but I find it very odd that a job seeker would post that on any public forum much less a public forum that her prospective employer may read.

That being said, you're young, go for it. Plenty of time to work in a lab

Gotta love anytime a woman speaks how she always manages to throw in the fact that they have a boyfriend, etc. LOLZ.

Anyways, weight it out, if it makes sense from a financial standpoint, go for it. You have nothing to lose and if it doesn't work out you can always go back to whatever it was you currently do.

Turns out she took my advice which was to take it or leave it. I think she likes her job too much. Next step will be to get a new boyfriend down at the brewery.

I always mention I have a wife, and plenty of guys mention they have a girl at any time. Shit, people even post pictures. A little late to the party on the advice there chief.

Anyway, congrats Ms.Goose! It makes me happy as I gear up for a job I'll hate that there's hope for me in the future outside of dropping a toaster in my bath. Cheers!

If you work part time, I think you are only required to grow a goatee and not a full beard.

You will also only need a few pairs of cargo shorts and a couple of beer related t-shirts.

So glad that things at the brewery are working out! Life is so much easier when you're able to love what you do for a living. I'm sincerely happy for you.:grinning:

Thanks so much everyone (everyone = most of you)...I had been meaning to write an update as I got a lot of encouragement and advice on here.

Gotta love anytime a woman writes a post on a beer forum an ignorant guy makes a comment about the fact that she's a woman. LOLZ.

Read my previous posts; I certainly don't throw in the fact that I have a boyfriend in every one. Obviously I mention my boyfriend if he is relevant to the point I'm making just like I would expect anyone else to mention their significant others.

Gotta love any time a man reads the first post from over three months ago, skips the entire thread without bothering to check to see if there's been an update in those three months, and then puts in his two cents on a point that's been moot for...you guessed it...three months.

    ...

Anyway, glad you're enjoying the job! I understand why it didn't seem like an obvious "yes" to take it in the first place, but I think a lot of us looking at it from an outside perspective thought you'd be nuts to turn down something that you seemed so excited about. Congrats on the progress!

Oh, and I don't have a girlfriend. Just thought as a guy, I should mention my relationship status. Since that's apparently what we're doing now.
