I do like the Citra, though tis a strange brew coz the cask version is a little too lemony
and I live across the road from a B&M's that sell it for £1.79 a bottle

However it is very rare for a bottle version to be anywhere near as good as the cask
and that Galaxy last night the bottle conditioning must have been spot on because it was
the closest to a cask beer at home I have had.

Now Citra is good in fact it is very good but last nights beer was most excellent.

Now hopefully another great beer tonight as I open a bottle of Pressure Drop's Stokey Belle
a bourbon barrel version of Stokey Brown (ale) once again bottle conditioned
once again a specialist beer shop extra expense job.

    Right, more Lion stout
the last but one time I was in B&M's some woman in front off me grabbed all but 4 bottles.
I the remaining four and when I last went in there the shelf was full again
So drink deep friends while you can.

I just got my bottles of Elizabethan Ale in, popped the cap on one(after it was in the fridge for an hour) and I give my stamp of approval on it.

Harveys? I know, I loved it too. Their other ones are pretty weak.

And then you have their A. Le Coq imperial stout. It pretty much destroys any other British beer I've ever had. So incredibly complex and delicious. Only thing is you can't mind having to pay 3 quid for a half pint bottle (275 ml).

Their Sussex Best Bitter is amazing on cask if you can find it in good condition.....which is hardly ever it seems.

Was going to post something similar. Found it in very good condition at a pub in Stoke Newington. A real cracking pint--one of the best I had on my trip.

Speaking of Harveys, I have relatives that live near the brewery. Might have to look up their beers when I go down to visit.....

We should do a regional brewery rate off thread, even if it's just to see where sam smiths end up, I'm guessing at least Harveys, Thwaites and Fullers at the bare minimum rate better than SS

Had a 2011 bottle of Sam Smith's Imperial Stout yesterday. I have to say it was better than I expected. Pretty black (no cola color), nice tan head and a fair bit of flavour in there. Oxidized to balls though.

I've been to Lewes loads of times but have never had a chance to look inside the brewery. It's one of those old fashioned tower style ones. Lovely looking building.

Looking forward to cracking open a St. Austell Big Job come 6PM today. Having said that their beers are always better on cask.

Post about this when you've had it. I'm curious to try it, but concur with your point about their beers being much better from cask.
