I'm heading to West LA for business and will have a little time to hit a bottle shop or two.

Looked up some stuff and BevMo! in Santa Monica looks like the biggest, but searched their site and doesn't look like they have what I'm really looking for (Russian River & Alesmith - Numbskull specifically)

Russian River site lists Whole Foods as a place to get their stuff. Is that my best option?

Any and all help is appreciated!

    Did some more searching:

    Wally's
    Beverage Warehouse

    Both sound promising.

most russian river stuff sells out same day it comes in
you should try the Santa Monica whole foods they have a great selection of other stuff
but you will have to get RR as it comes in basically just luck of the draw and timing

For RR and Alesmith id recommend Cap n' Cork in los feliz or Bills Liquor in atwater village. Those two might have the numbskull. Bills gets PtE and Blind pig somewhat regularly on fridays. Havent seen much RR down here since supplication a month or so ago...

I'm not sure if the WF in Santa Monica carries RR anymore. I tried asking for some Pliny about a month ago and the buyer scoffed at my request, asking me why I would want to drink Pliny when there are plenty of better beers on the shelf. He said he's given up on RR and will not order anymore. I don't know if he's actually stopped ordering though so you might want to call first. I would suggest the WF on Lincoln over the one on Wilshire.

    Wally's
    Vendome Bev Hills

To me, the only worthy stops on the westside.

RR Temptation just started landing on shelves so depending on when your trip is you may see it around town, cheers!

If you are in west LA, and willing to go a bit south, the Whole Foods in El Segundo has the biggest selection of beers of any WF in LA. It's split into 2 sections of the store, so do some exploring. They also have a bunch of nice glassware.

They also have $1.50 DBA pints at happy hour.

IIRC June Gloom and Mission Blonde pints as well. In the Mexican food area, not the beer bar area.

I second this. Vendome had Pliny in stock today just FYI. As well as Alpine Nelson and Kern Just Outstanding. Twas a good IPA day on the westside!

Please leave some for me! Be there Tuesday.

I'm guessing it will be gone this weekend...

    Thanks for the heads up!

How much time do you have in LA? Renting a car? And where will you be staying? What area?
If you do have a rental then head 2 miles south on Sepulveda Blvd to Whole Foods El Segundo. I would say head over to El Segundo Brewing Co after but they are closed on Tuesday. There open on Weds if you have time to check em out. Also not far from LAX. Beverage Warehouse is just north of LAX. So you can check em out after Whole Foods. Depending on how much time you are in West LA I would check out Naja's in Redondo Beach and driving a little further south hit up Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach.

Russian River tends to hit the LAX area on Wednesday (along with whatever else Stone distributes). Not sure if that is the case with Wholefoods or not. I prefer Beverage Warehouse because their bottle limit isn't as annoying as some other places and you don't have to do crap like ask them to bring it out of the back.

They should have everything Alesmith you need as well

If you're just looking to drink the stuff Father's Office (2 locations) usually has it on tap. Also Steingarten, Daily Pint, and Library Alehouse have bottles of Russian River sours available for on-site consumption. For bottles, as stated above, Beverage Warehouse Wednesday may be your best bet.
