I am in complete agreement on this point. I opened my bottle of Kentucky Brunch about 3 days after the release, and the coffee was dominant, something I did not think of the BCBCS we also drank that night. I have a friend who still hasn't opened his bottle, despite my admonitions.

I had Kuhnhenn's Imperial Creme Brule Java Stout for the first time yesterday and WOW basically sums that up. If they threw that thing into some bourbon barrels that beer could do wonders.

(I know they can barrel age beers properly, see BB4D)

Just made a Cafe Jesus twin by topping off a Tbsp of Cognac and 2Tbsp of strong espresso with Bully! porter. It was a bit of a waste of a good Cognac, but it was pretty amazing stuff. Had I put a better porter or stout in, it would have been a home run. (cross posted the details on Beer Cocktails thread)

I made three triple espressos for experimentation (different roasts:grimacing: ). Then poured them all into a mason jar mug which is still nearly full and sitting in the fridge (capped of course). Now need another 6-pack of stout and a good bourbon. Or crack open one of the W00tstouts instead of aging and mix it with Sam Houston that I already have:grinning: ... It's going to be a looong weekend...

Best is of course subjective. To me, I like to answer what has the greatest value or in a relative sense easiest to get and for both of those, I'd answer Peruvian Morning . . . it's just not worth giving up a 12-pack of PM for me to buy a bomber of GI BCBCS, not to mention the headache to get.

Yeah, something better than Bully Porter would make sense there. Say, Evil Twin Lil B or something.

I was going to use FBS but temporarily misplaced it. But that would have been a better match for Hennessy VSOP. I got a whole 6-pack of bully for less than a single of Evil Twin--with the money I saved, I got the Cognac.

Love Coffee Stouts. BA Kopi Luwak Speedway Stout would be my favorite up to now. The regular BA SS is also really good. Would love to see the Vietnamese Variant be BBAed which I am pretty sure they are working on. Need to try the other ones just to make sure...Someday!

Was this the first time you had the 2012 BCBCS?

I popped my last one about 2 weeks ago at a tasting and, while everyone LOVED it, I've had it quite a bit and it's a shadow of its' former self. The coffee taste has fallen off the deep end on it, IMHO.

Can't wait to get some fresh 2013 BCBCS. Mmm mmm mmm.

No. I had one bottle fresh and had saved this bottle. Both were amazing. Did not notice any lack of coffee in the 2nd one
