Typically i dont limit Citra...We were running low before FwB time expired and i wasnt sure we were getting anymore, so i slapped a limit on it. I dunno if we got more or not, or if the limit is still up.

I'll address the flat bottle issues with the staff and pm those who have reported issues.

 

I've got a couple bottles of Citra Ninja batch 176 from The Beer Temple. I'm gonna open one later and ill report back.

 

Date Sugar carb should be fine... it is a low carbed beer (perhaps just a little bit too low). If you open it cold it'll seem flat (light small fizzy bubbles) but if you open it at cellar temperature which we would recommend it should have the proper carbonation for style. A cold bottle will pour with basically no head, but a cellar temp bottle will produce a head. I'm drinking one at 33F now and it has tiny tiny little fizzy bubbles, definitely not FLAT, but I could see how some might think that.

I have an idea on the CN bottles and I'll look into it more (and also do full test on DSYM as well) on monday.

So, we might have missed the mark on DSYM a bit but we were aiming low. With CN it sounds more like a bottling issue.

 

mine (date sugar) was definitely flat. i will say i did pour mine cold, however i've tasted many a flat beer as samples from my carboys and i don't think that this was an example of a combo of incorrect temp and low carb. i see on untappd that a lot of people loved the beer, so i think it's a definite bottle variation thing.

well it is totally possible the bottling error is also present on DSYM

we are definitely putting sloppy seconds funds towards a new bottler (well actually towards the bottle shop but it'll free up money for the other)

Then we'll have a giant party in the parking lot with food trucks and shit for all our donors! I found some awesome porta-potties that have working sinks in them. Excited for those.

 

My one dsym was def flat. My citra is batch 175! When I open it I'll report back.

i didn't know there was more than one. i tossed my empty last week but if i had to guess it was 167.

 

you guys like the wax? most people think it's a pain in the ass... myself included (i used to love it... but it's definitely worn on me). It doesn't really provide any substantial oxy barrier for aging. It's mostly all aesthetic. I have finally figured out a relatively easy way of opening our waxed bottles now.
