no, the texas beer scene isn't broken. its pretty good these days.
its just that there are some total twats that don't know how to be decent and proper with it...

 

I think as long as we're not looking for this in Houston, we should be fine.

 

This is what I'm talking about. Not that there aren't total twats everywhere, but I can't imagine the day when Texas starts getting actually rare beer. People will die in pursuit.

 

I got cut waiting for parabola at petrol. Showed up at 3:00 and the line got mixed up out back. Someone who showed up at 5:00 got my ticket. I still had an awesome time and got my two BB4s.

 

Am I the only one tempted to do an 20/80 blend of this for Breakfast tomorrow in wait of north side releases?

Well not quite to that level but I hope the two I lucked into a trade for at Petrol make up for it. Heres my haul today...



How I got the two in the middle-
Got a Parabola at Petrol cause two people who got tickets didn't pick theirs up. Around 7:30 guy walked out with two and me and about 8 other guys started guessing numbers between 1-60. First to get the two numbers he chose got the Parabolas. Got it on my second guess (guess was 13). As I was about to leave with the Parabola some nice chaps from California walked up and offered me two 10 day old Pliny (bottled 8/02/2013) for it since one of their friends hadn't tried it. Also got to taste some Sink the Bismark and Tactical Nuclear Penguin that they had sitting around...

All in all..

From all the threads I've seen, Houston and Austin get all the attention and Dallas is the stepchild. Amiright?

 

Nah man, its nothing personal. I know everyone is excited for all the beers they "scored" and I'm happy for them. I'm also glad to see BA's sharing with each other. But there are so many BA's that don't have the time off to drive around all day and get these beers then to see people flaunt their hauls is whats bothersome.

I'm willing to bet there are quite a few Houston BA's sitting at home right now that aren't as vocal/asshole as me to say something and weren't able to buy anything. Then they get to click on this thread and see how "so and so" got XXX amount of bottles and how their local Kroger didn't have any bottle limits so now there are none left for them when they get home from work. It's one thing to hoard bottles but to brag about it is another. Personally, I would feel like an asshole if I came home and let every other Dallas BA know how many bottles I got when there's a good chance some of them got little to nothing.

On a side note, some of the same people that used to bitch about St Arnolds putting out low numbers of Bishops Barrel or DR's to "create hype" (which is ridiculous to begin with) because they didn't get any are now part of the problem. When the shoe is on the other foot, they're not complaining they're bragging.

Honestly, if it were me and I was going to publicly post my haul (and if this was Dallas) I would set a few aside for myself and publicly anounce in this thread that I'm willing to give every Dallas BA who didn't get a bottle one of each for cost on a first come first serve basis. I wouldn't announce how many of my "bros" I'm hooking up. We all know it goes on but I just think its poor taste to flaunt it.

Edit: Not to mention, some of these posts don't just seem like someone is happy about their haul, they seem pretty damn antagonistic but maybe that's me reading into it too much.

No shit, I saw that Pliny, I was wondering if it was part of your haul or you just threw it in there. So as not to not get anyone in trouble I won't even ask, but congrats, thats a nice little find. I'd be excited too.
