Yeah don't settle for DL unless it's a vintage. You'll already be getting one from me in a few weeks.

Just completed my first trade and one of the bottles evidently had a loose cap (bottle was not broken and most of the liquid was still in the bottle) and I never even considered not sending a replacement. Seems common etiquette...If you agree to a trade with someone you're responsible for getting them their beer in one piece or "refunding" the beer they sent you.

In this situation, the only recourse is for him to fly to you and piss in a growler.

Not really jazzed about the DL, just traded for several of them and I feel I gave up more than 1x DL worth of beer, but in the end I just want something. I'll still be surprised if that happens, but he said he would ship this weekend so giving him a last chance. If he doesn't, it sucks but all I can do is put his name out there so others do not trade with him and get burned. I think he could care less if I do that, but I would like to save others the trouble for sure.

Just had my first bottle break after about 20 trades. Pissed me off thinking it could have gone all the way from NJ to Cali and perhaps broke on the last drop off. Oh well. Can't easily get another bottle, but I'll be shipping a replacement of similar rarity next week.

It's on my mind, I have LeBleu in shipment, and I know it's my dime if any break. I for sure will not be drinking anything I get before finding out that what I sent got there safely.

I am kinda curious how you know for sure the bottle broke and he's not just trying to screw you. Also, was it returned, lost, or destroyed? Was it insured? lol.

Is the guy a new trader? It just seems strange to me that the Huna would break and everything else would make it unless his packing was just horrible. I think it's a good rule of thumb that when sending a bunch of bottles where only 1 really matters, go overboard on packing that bottle ^_^. I'm fairly confident that I could roll most of my boxes down the stairs or drop 5-6 feed and the main bottles would be fine (probably the extras too).

Honestly, the only that really worries me is that the bottles will freeze and explode or someone will decide to open my box. When I ship I list the value of the contents at eBay price for anything not off the shelf available, so if the box were to be destroyed I can use the money to buy replacements.

I'm sure I'll have a bottle break eventually, but I'm going to put it off as long as I can. But I definitely agree that he needs to ship you something. I don't think I could have settled for a Dark Lord, wasn't a big fan of them, especially the newer vintages. In my opinion, if a bottle breaks, the person should do everything they can to try and replace it with the same bottle (see if they can get one from a friend, trade for it, buy another, whatever) and if it's just literally not possible, then they should replace it with either a better bottle, or something the other party WANTS just as much or more.

I kinda wanna know this guys name so I can avoid trading with him, though assuming he's in Florida I think I'm safe since I already have 2 reliable trade partners out there so I shouldn't need any more. ^_^.

I tracked it, so I know it definitely broke. I believe they destroyed it. When I let him know, he told me it must have been the Huns because there were no extras haha.
