I'm going to take care of this quote today. The 1st person that can come up with 3 "old" blacksmith quotes that are still used today wins a hand forged bottle opener made by me. The 3 quotes have to be in the same comment and a brief description of what they mean and how they are used today. I didn't say it was going to be easy. You have until 8:00 A.M tomorrow or until this thread closes, which ever comes first. example: "strike the iron while it's hot" = close the deal while it's good

"Tools do not make the blacksmith, the blacksmith makes the tools." - obviously they make the tools....

"Hit it where it's *hot* not where it's not! " - This is only common sense

"Think at the forge work at the anvil." - contemplate before taking action

"too many irons in the fire." - working on too many objects at once and something is bound to fail

"to go at something hammer and tongs." - to work vigorously

"hit it where it's hot, not where it's not." - you'll screw it up if you do.

"strike while the iron's hot"--make sure to not let an opportunity pass you by; the window is small, and if you hesitate, you could miss it. in smithing, it means you have to wait for the metal to heat, and then can work.

"you've got too many irons in the fire"--make sure to not take on too many tasks at once, or else you may not do a good job at any of them. better to focus on one or two things and do them well. same for smithing--if hotmetal's trying to make multiple openers at once, he's got a better chance of screwing them up.

"that's got a nice ring to it" --in smithing, referred to the sound of the hitting of the metal at an appropriate time, but now means to sounds attractive or like a good idea

Ok, I'll give it a shot. Your openers are beautiful.

I need a third arm - the blacksmith needs a helper. I think there are some other meanings that I won't mention. lol.

Forge ahead - continue despite adversity.

Forged by fire - one that has developed strength through difficult circumstances.

Damn, I just noticed I was too late.

Really?!?! I thought it was horrific for a RIS... and there was a thread with many people saying the same. Opinions are your own though. I was hoping to be in love for the low price RIS but haven't bought since.

I have a bottle of this that I haven't opened yet.
I drank the No 4 (Meyer Lemons and Budha's hand) and thought it was fantastic.
