Just notice this posted on the retail page:

PLEASE NOTE: We have instituted a 3-growler limit per person per trip through the line in an effort to speed up the line and accomodate those people who are just picking up 1-3 growlers at a time. This is any combination of sizes, not by liters. Thanks for your understanding!

Ouch. Fully respect the decision and when I attempt to put myself in a neutral position, it's probably the right choice, but from a selfish, personal perspective, this sucks :[ I like buying 750s rather than 2Ls, and 4 or 5 750s is a nice number... I will burn through 3 very rapidly.

Painful to drive 8 hour round trip for a half gallon of beer.

Per person per trip through the line? So you can fill more than three on the same visit if you just wait in line again?

Yup. Growler limit has always been that way.

Nice. I rarely can get up there, but good to know that when I can it won't be for only 3 growlers.

It was only a matter of time before a limit like this was truly enforced. It is probably for the best. Seeing the party in front of you all fill up 7 growlers each is part of the experience per say, but doesn't make it suck any less. That's where the tasters really come in handy.

Going through the line twice if you need more than 3 probably won't be that bad, especially since the line should move quicker now.

There's been a limit for a long time. It's been 5 since early this year, IIRC. Was 7 or 8 before that. Can't remember.

Yes that is true, but the last time I went someone in my group was able to obtain more than the 5 growler limit. I am saying that it may be good they are going to enforce it as opposed to it being whoever is pouring your growlers' call

All the more reason to travel with more people to HF

That line can be brutal. I think this is a good move all around

Not entirely thrilled but I understand the reasoning...the first time I was at HF there were 4 guys ahead of me having 6 2L each filled. I was about 15 people in line and it took an hour. Now I was more than okay with this, but for the people that were after me and had to wait an hour on top of this I can see it as being a good way of speeding things up.

I'll probably stick to going on a thursday or friday to avoid as much wait time regardless.

I mean, I don't think this change makes any difference in that. I would assume they'll continue to not enforce it on slow days. But maybe not!

Curious as to what percentage of customers were previously purchasing only 1-3 growlers..

That's a good point. Didn't really think about that.

You will see a lot more 2L fills vs 750ml fills now.

As a local, who normally buys one growler at a time, this is great news.

Looks like I will just be doing the line twice (with my gf) from now on! 6 growlers for a 9 hour round trip doesn't cut the cheddar.

Having been a couple people behind someone's girlfriend/mule when a beer I drove 5 hours to get kicks (twice now) I like the move. Although the half Edward half s+s #3 growler was awesome.
