I almost did a deal like that. Instead I traded with cool people.

Just watch as DDG becomes a similar trading beer to Black Tuesday.

Won't happen. DDG is every 3 years. Black Tuesday is every year and in mass amounts.

I know.... darn Cali breweries making large volumes of beers... We need to keep this stuff limited and for locals.

Ha probably not. Just poking the tiger here... but I do wonder if there could be a similar phenomenon for where people are devaluing BT's and sending them out to the rest of the country. DDG obviously isn't going to have the same trading value as BT but could it not be affected by this same phenomenon? e.g. it ends up trading for quite a bit less than it should be.

Ehhh, that's just a testament to California traders not holding their beer ransom. Not really a phenomenon, just people not being dicks with their beer.

    FTFY.

There are plenty of good California traders who aren't trying to ransom their beers. Then there are those "other" California traders. Like the ones parrotsnest and Duffman mention.

    two points:
-"it ends up trading for quite a bit less than it should be" based on what? the initial hype? the quality of the beer? i'm not sure how you determine what a beer "should trade for" ...beer trades for what it does, period. And if the traders aren't D-bags and just help each other out, all the better."devaluing" should be a banned word here if it's describing beer geeks shipping other beer geeks beer to try...

-BT "going down in value" has a lot less to do with abundantly generous Cali traders and a lot more to do with larger yearly production, everyone that wants to being able to join a club that reserves them at least half a case, and a few abundantly generous trustees that take a second job shipping people beer.
