Ballast Point returns to CO

Found and bought some Fresh Racer 5. Date was very clear on the bottle. 7-1-13. So 5 weeks old and damn good.. Didn't know BR went to such a dating.Only stuff i can usually find is a pain in the ass Julian date on the neck of the bottle. Fresh Racer is one of the best IMO!

 

I can never find it fresh.

 

where was this? I've been hankering for some Racer 5 lately...

Argonaut had some of that July 1st batch as of yesterday, picked a sixer up.

 

yeah I saw they had it but didn't look at the date, a couple days before Fitshaced's post. I just assumed it was old! Think I'll walk up the street, it's just 6 blocks from my crib...where is the date on Racer 5?

thanks, found it in the store pretty quickly. 7-1-13. Enjoying one now. We gave BeerSlingerMike enough shit for out of date Elite stock, I got to give him/them props for this. Now where's that Sculpin!! And the Prairie???

 

jellomisfit confirmed no prairie coming for the rest of the year, i believe. he said the last shelton bros pre-order of the year was already sent in and there was no prairie on the list.

 

Ha I'm drinking some of that relatively fresh Racer right now, wow what a difference!!

 

There should be One more Shelton Pre-Order for Colorado this year yet to be placed. So there is a chance however slim it is.

 

Unrelated to Ballast Point...but Shelton distributes Spezial and Mahr's. Is there any chance we'll ever see those beers on the south end of town?

 

First request I've seen or heard for Mahr's or Spezial in 9 years.

 

They've had Speziale at Mile High (and may still have a few). I've never tried it, mainly because it costs more than Schlenkerla, and I really love that shit.

 

I think Mondo had some Spezial as well

 

A few places carry both of them, but almost nobody on the south end. Mile High has been my best source. Davidson's occasionally has Mahr's, but they only seem to get it a year. With Spezial, I usually stock up in Ft. Collins. Wilbur's seems to order it regularly.
For those who know (yes, I'll catch flack from a couple German forum BA's) Spezial > Schlenkerla

 

The Sculpin arrives end of Oct. per Ballast Point.

Gotta love the wait.
