Yep. I was there. Grabbed a seat at the bar 4 or 5 seats to the left of the waitress station.

I believe the reason he's doing cash for the PtY is because he'll already have both PtY and PtE poured for each seat at the bar, and the tables surrounding it when the doors open. That way you sit right down to your beer instead of getting there, and then having to wait for however many people to all put their orders in. I recall this having been done previously.

Don't know what to tell you on that one. I ended up on the curve of the bar approaching where you go back to the bottle shop as other people I knew were over there...but I grabbed my beers damn near in the dead center of the bar.

Cash Is because they sell the tickets outside before you enter.

in that case, you would've been sitting on my lap. or my friend matty or satori's lap. and i don't think we would've appreciated that =)

Wouldn't have been sitting at all. When I grabbed my beers and moved, I gave up my seat and moved to a portion of the bar where everyone had already grabbed seats. I didn't have a seat.

Posts like this are a self-fulfilling prophecy. No one needs to be there at 8:30am "to be safe" but now people will see it and think that it's true.

There isn't a beer on this Earth that would have me on line at 9a for a known hour or two. I'll show up at 10:30a on the nose and I we don't get Younger, I'll enjoy an Elder for my troubles and go home.

I'm with you on this bhir, but it's pretty clear that we're in the distinct minority. Even to get younger at the brewpub this year you had to wait in line for a minimum of two to three hours the first two days, and even when I stopped by on Sunday afternoon, there was still a 20 minute wait (which I thought was barely tolerable).

I plan on going to the Harrisburg event on Saturday anyway, but otherwise I'd consider attending this. I'd aim for later in the day, as frankly I don't need to drink any more younger this year (and would feel that way even if I hadn't had some at the brewpub). The rest of the line-up is first rate though, and I wouldn't have minded having some fresh sculpin, edward, elder or double trouble. Plus Matt's a great guy, and I always like to support his events in any way that I can.

would i wait in line again for 2 hours for younger? no. have i done it before in the past? yes. and i don't regret it in the least. it's part of the experience of the "first time". well, technically i didn't wait more than a minute for my first younger, but i was there to support my friends on their younger cherry being popped by waiting in line with them.

Anyone remember last year's Monk event? Was it that early? I have work but could sneak out for an early lunch...it is only 2 blocks away. If I could just walk over at 11:30 and get it, I'd totally do it but I can't sit around in a line. I just have no idea the demand at 11:30 on a Monday.

chances are there might be a line before they open, although it might not be quite as insane as some of the other cantillon or RR mad mondays.

Hi everyone, Eulogy does have a keg of Pliny the Younger. We'll be tapping it on a Tuesday evening, not sure which Tuesday yet, we'll announce the day first on Twitter (@eulogybar) and then soon after on our Facebook page. We've already gotten about 50 calls asking when, it's a secret so we aren't giving any answers by phone or email. A big hint is we won't tap same day as any other lucky bar, this way you don't have to worry about running one place to another same day. More details to follow on Twitter and Facebook. Thanks for your support these past ten years and please check out our new German restaurant Bierstube. Op uw gezondheid
