Seems I remember reading on the old site at last LeBleu release that there were reports of bottles exploding, or some sorts of problems with shipped bottles.

Does anyone remember this? Does anyone have any info or experience with this. Has anyone reading this sent/received a LeBleu that had problems in transit? Or is there no truth to it?

Should special shipping precautions be made, somehow? What kind, any way to seal a crown capped cork any better?

Any thoughts relevant to this would be helpful to me, and maybe to others (c'mon you other people who got cases- don't hoard). Thanks

I had a LeBleu shipped to me, and some leaked out the cork/cap and down the side of the bottle. Smelled very acetic/vinegary, but the contents within the bottle ended up being fine.

that was mainly with batch1, I do recall. And I don't think there's too much you can do other than making a leak-proof package and taping the top of the bottle down super tight to encourage the cork to stay in.

I'd also ship it before the summer heat gets here- you don't want that sitting in a 115 degree truck.

I caught one of the later batches - Dizzle shipped it from NY and it arrived in perfect condition.

If you need someone to test your packing to see if it arrives okay, I'll fall on that sword for you. :grinning: I'll send you something corked and caged in return.

Batch 1 was the only batch with serious carbonation problems. I had 2 explode in shipping and 1 explode just sitting on the floor.

I've shipped batch 2 with no problems though can't speak for batch 3. On the other hand, I opened a batch 3 last night and it looks like whereas batch 1 was overcarbonated and batch 2 was a bit undercarbonated, this time, it seems just right so you shouldn't have any unforseen problems.

Cool, looks like it was mainly B1 probs, and I will take the advice of extreme taping. Anyone else with some info please chime in.

I am sending first two boxes today, so we can use this thread to inform all of us as they land

Good luck Dave! I for one, don't think taping up the bottles does jack squat. If it is going to leak or explode then the tape isn't going to help.

Yep... 1st batch had bottles exploding.

I received a couple of the 2nd batch and they were fine.

I remember mikey opened up a b1 at one of the CL tastings and the thing pretty much emptied itself when opened.

I just had one land in the Midwest and there weren't any reported problems. I do have a few others in transit so I'll keep you posted.

I hope mine makes it >_<. I would be so sad if it exploded. Plus it would be really pathetic to watch me sponge all the beer up and wring it into a cup :astonished:.

Just bumping to first page to see if any updates from senders or receivers of the latest batch of LeBleu, or anyone else.

I sent 2 bottles to a guy in Colorado and some freak weather set in and it hit -26 at night.
The bottom of the bottle blew completely out.
Thanks goodness the other one survived and FedEx delivered anyway.
UPS would have opened the box and stole the contents!!

The only problem is cold weather which I don't think you have to worry about. My incident was a freak occurrence.
