Traverse City Beer Fest next weekend

    Maybe this is already being discussed elsewhere but...

    Anyone going?
    Has it actually sold out in recent years? I'm planning to take my chances w/tix and buy them day of

    I may sell out for Friday night since they usually have a decent concert performer that night, but I've never seen Saturday sell out. In my opinion, it's a decent event, but overpriced. Very few breweries bring anything you can't get on the shelf. Still, it's a good time in an amazing location. Hope you have a good time!

    BCBS will be flowing....Ill be up there, just trying to find out if they are actually selling the beer on Friday or not..

    Good to know. Ya its $40/ticket for Saturday and I'm not trying to spend that kind of money for shelf beers and bands most of which I've never heard of. Their list of breweries is incomplete and seems to include at least in part the line up from the winter festival.

    Don't get me wrong, it's a good time, and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. Some breweries do bring special kegs and do timed releases, but many don't. I'm thinking most just don't see the event as being big enough to warrant it.

    Yeah, $40 is a hell of a cover charge to get into a bar! I'd pay $40 to get in for unlimited drinks though....it's how it SHOULD be!
