I'm on vacation this week in N.C. with my in laws and we all plan on buying beer to take home. They all want corona because its cheaper here, and me I'm buying some N.C. Brewed beers as well as other craft beers I can't get in PA easily. When I went to the local lowes foods to get my beer numerous in laws said make sure I get the beer warm so it doesn't skunk on the drive home. I heatedly explained that temperature is not the skunker but rather UV light. They don't believe me and its quite annoying.

What's everybody else's most annoying beer myth??

The myth that most annoys me is that being a beer geek means you have to get offended whenever someone else is wrong about beer storage, proper drinking vessels, beer styles, etc.

The same for me. I work at a liquor store, and whenever people ask if we have a cooler-only beer warm I'll try to explain to them that temperature variations won't do anything to their beer. Almost invariably they will either pronounce their disbelief or simply get angry at me. For reasons unfathomable to me people feel very passionately about it.

I also think it's funny when people think that the term "craft beer" means "imports" (Heineken, Guinness).

Yup this is the one people don't let go of. I heard a TW clerk correcting a customer once, customer wouldn't have it...

Another myth is that beer should be served as cold as possible. I hate getting iced glasses, didn't used to think it made a big difference til I had an Oberon in one...wow, tasted like a freaking macro.

A third myth is that Guinness is a really thick beer.

Hoegaarden is pronounced like 'hoe...' (not who...) FFS, they put the phonetic spelling on the sixpack packaging.

Long list of myths about what is considered moderate drinking. Many, many people confuse 3 pints a day with 3 standard drink units, for example... and it's not just a 3 drink/day limit, there's also the (approximate) limit of 14 standard drinks per week.

Mine isn't a myth, but more of a pet peeve that touches on your post. I f%#*king hate when people say they don't drink beer because of "that beer flavor". Sends me through the roof.
