Aventinus. Can't imagine every getting burnt on that brew. Or Edmond Firtz.

I don't understand why the focus on lagers another lo-ABV beers, to be honest. While there are some higher-alcohol suggestions, almost everyone is looking at sessionable or near-sessionable beers. Why? "House wines" are not lower alcohol, even though they are intended for a pretty good clip of consumption and are sold by the pitcher/bottle/glass. I would think of "house beer" in the same terms--it has to be basic without being pedestrian. So I agree with two Duvel suggestions--despite US pricing, it's exactly at the right position. And it complements a variety of foods quite well. And I would would not stray far for second choice--Ommegang Abbey Ale (still Duvel).

I think I'd have to go with Aecht Schlenkerla's Marzen. The only reason I don't drink it daily is because it's $5 a bottle.

My first choice would be fresh Duchesse De Bourgogne. I know that a lot of people, some of my friends included, probably wouldn't be incredibly stoked about this choice, but I love the stuff. My alternate, more practical choice, would have to be Pliny. It's a win either way for me.

This could easily by my choice as well. If I just wanted a brew with dinner, it would do the job. If I wanted to drink nine pints on a Saturday, it would do the job. My wife is a fan of it as well and I have found non-craft drinkers can dig it too.

Of course, I can't help but think of how awesome it would be to have a keg of Sam Adams Noble Pils. That would be pretty sweet.

For everyday drinkability I must say RJ Rockers Pale Ale-or "the Pale" as it was called many moons ago. As a back up-and I am choosing from my local microbrewerys-Thomas Creek Dopplebock ....

I could take down Heady Topper all day every day. Sheer drinkability and continual reproducibility of enjoyment have yet to be rivaled in my eyes.

Tough decision but I'd have to go with La Fin du Monde and as an alternative Stone RIS or skull splitter.

Ok, my criteria is smooth drinkable beer that is inexpensive and readily (to me) available. Here go:

Domestic Division: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (current house beer), Sam Adams Noble Pils.

International Division: Hacker Pschorr Munich Gold, Paulaner Original Munich Lager. Two of the smoothest beers on the planet.

Dortmunder Gold intrigues me and I'm sure it would be a favorite if I had easy access to it.

Founders Breakfast Stout. FBS would be something I'd enjoy everyday and I think most of my guests would as well. However, I'm going to crack open a KBS for the first time tomorrow, maybe I might change my answer.

A house isn't ready with one beer, but if only one flagship stayed the same while the other rotated- Red's Rye PA.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact I'm having one now.

Cantillon Classic Gueuze... to balance the pH level, I'd serve some dank a$$ cheese.

It would be awesome if 3F Golden Blend or Cantillon Saint Lamvinus flows through my faucet...
