Best bet is if Cottonwood brings a keg from Austin like they seem to do somewhat often with ABW stuff.

Come to Fort Worth. Zios has their Berliner going with daily syrups.

Great people, the base beer is awesome solo, and the traditional and experiential syrups are dope nose. I keep pressing Adam to make it their first "year round" offering. Perfect style for my palate right now. I drink a lot...I mean a lot of it a week

How is Adam? I remember when he was down here working for Independence.

Doing well. Zios is such a great spot for food and beer. I like having a spot to go now that I work for the Saucer that is not in downtown.

Totally support Noah's statement. More people need to try Zio's Berliner(called "Batch Limit", btw). This style is one of my absolute favorites and Adam's got this one dialed in to the more traditional German style versions. Not many/enough US breweries are brewing this style "right", IMO.

Heard lots of good things about their in house made syrups but have yet to try one(last time there they were out). Honestly though, this beer is just fine without them. Not overly tart, very drinkable on it's own. Next time(maybe later this afternoon even) I'll have to try one.

    Do they do growler fills?

Yes Brad, they fill growlers. I ALMOST filled one with their berliner but they only had 64's(screwcap). They wouldn't fill my 750(swingtop) that I brought, but it was mainly because it was that one bartender(girl, I forget her name) there, and she couldn't get an authorization on a price.

Shared a bottle of this last night listening to music at Central Market, and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality for the cost ($5, I think). Not the best Berliner ever, but very drinkable.

Friday. Einhorn. You and me; this thing is going to happen.

It ought to be an obvious choice to brew a Berliner Weisse especially here in Texas and
I've been badgering a number of local brewers for years about this!

    So, here's the pitch:
WHY TEXAS BREWERS SHOULD GET OFF THE SCHNEID WITH BERLINER WEISSES

    1. It's generally considered to be one of, if not the most refreshing style to drink when
    the weather is hot.
    2. Austin's average temperatures are at or above (mostly above) Berlin in August for
more than 9 months out of the year.
    3. There's obvious demand for the style, as Einhorn so clearly demonstrated. -Voted "Best
new Beer of 2012" by Austin Beer Guide as I recall.
    4. For the general public it's a whole new style- which, with its accessibility of flavor,
lower alcohol content, and incredible wealth of history, names and imagery -makes it
    a marketing/advertising dream come true.
    5. Its ability to be mixed with any number of Lambics or syrups is unequaled by any
other style and again opens the door for a much much broader customer base.
    6. Yes doing a traditional batch takes substantially longer than brewing yet another IPA,
but as Beerworks demonstrated, there are ways to speed things up.
    7. The material costs are much lower, both for grain and of course hops.
    8. There have been several creations designed to fill a demand for something like this
put forth by BMC, and while their execution was half-assed, you can be damn sure their
    market research was not.
    9. If you already have a brewing operation and are afraid of contamination or space issues
buy one of the smaller operations which just doesn't seem to making the cut (everyone
can probably think of one or two breweries that might do well to be "redirected". Acquiring a
separate already functioning space dedicated to a specific style or two without having to
absorb the massive regulatory and set-up costs would seem like a wise investment.
10 To restate the most simple and obvious:
IN SPITE OF A DEMONSTRATED DEMAND FOR A BEER STYLE WHICH IS NEITHER
CONSISTENTLY NOR RELIABLY AVAILABLE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, APPARENTLY
NONE OF THE MANY NEW BREWERIES WHO ARE TRYING TO DIFFERENTIATE
THEMSELVES IN THIS EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE MARKET HAVE RECOGNIZED THE
POTENTIAL FOR BERLINER WEISSE. And that's a damn shame.

It was in a thread a while back. Some guy who is a Brewer there kept hinting at it when I was saying they should make one.

The Icon series would be perfect for a Berliner.

Better yet, make it a Divine Reserve and confuse the beer geeks.

The Full Sail Brewers Cut Berliner Weise is still out there... sitting on shelves, waiting. Not to mention plenty of DFH Festina Peche

Which makes me wonder how big the demand for this style really is amoung the non-BA public. Is it just you elite few beer nerds who clamour for this tart treat?
