I saw a Lift Bridge branded van yesterday with a guy wearing a LB shirt. He was out delivering kegs of beer. So I am pretty sure they are self-distributing.

Here is the deal. Lift Bridge will have Hop Prop on draft before liquor stores will be selling bottles. I still haven't heard a release yet. It will be a 6pk 12 oz serving and dating probably will be later in the year or next year. IMO, they need to walk before they run. Like anything in this industry "subject to change". They have some other cool things down the pike but I am not yet at liberty to say.

They've been 'walking' for some time. IMO, bottle dating should be a top priority for breweries. Its a necessaity for an IPA/APA. Ive passed on Two Hearted and Founders many a time after glancing at the bottled on date and having it be 6 months to a year old. That is likley the very reason some dont do it, cant afford to have old product sent back.

I respectfully disagree. They just spent thousands of dollars on a label maker and bottling line. The brewery needed to get their product out on the shelves again after being gone for over 8 months. They have also spent money on three more fermentors to keep up with demand.

I do agree IPA/APA are better fresh and don't travel well at all. IMO, I would rather drink a fresh local IPA/APA than one that has traveled on a truck from another state.

Tried a couple of Lift Bridge's re-releases. Still not a fan of Farm Girl. Just not a saison imo. If they called it a Belgian Pale Ale, I would appreciate it more. The other one I tried is Crosscut. I enjoyed this much more now compared to when it was contract brewed. The malt tastes much more how I like my pale ales. The crystal/caramel malt has been toned down a bit.

In defense of Liftbridge, Saison is a pretty broad family of beers. I'd say Farmgirl fits in that family. Not a huge fan either, but I think it's a well made beer and I can certainly see why people like it.

Matt Hall the current brewmaster of LBB used to work at Firestone Walker a famous west coast pale ale maker. IMO, that beer is worth its weight in gold. It has improved 100%!!! So I agree with you. When it's fresh the beer is a great one.

It is better but not sure about 100% better:slight_smile:. If it was more competitively priced, it would make its way into my refrigerator very often.

It sounds like sometime this summer they will be releasing Hop Dish IPA in bottles.
