Fresh bottles of "Another One" by Maine Beer Company dated 8/6/13 hit Vermont stores last week. This is a sensational IPA that surpasses the legendary MBC "Lunch" IMO, and completely worthy of a purchase. If you buy only one of them, you may regret it after you try it when you go back to the store to see an empty shelf.

It's good for sure but I didn't think it was better than Lunch. Just my personal opinion.

Yeah I'm not too crazy about either of them. Both very solid, but I'm not running to the store for either of them. I was a bigger fan of Weez. And yeah, obligatory complaint about their prices discouraging me from purchasing in the future anyway...

I got excited to see MBC stuff in a shop in OCMD while I was there, but no Lunch. Silly me, expecting to be able to find these kind of beers. Maybe I'll be able to track this one down though...

I really liked Weez. Overall MBCO is a great brewery. I love Lunch, Weez and Mean Old Tom. Zoe and Mo aren't my favorites but I respect the styles.

I respect different tastes, and acknowledge the premium pricing aspect: the recent MBCO brewery expansion is proof that consumers are paying the prices. side note: I noticed while traveling south, bottles of MBCO beer are generally $1 per bottle higher than in Vermont, and that is not insignificant.

$5.99 in Vermont + tax/deposit, that really IS a big difference, makes it a different price point for certain

I've been hoping to see this a little south of the border. I can usually get Lunch locally, but at the price I have to pay down here, I'd like to try some new MBC; it's not worth it to make Lunch a regular IPA for me. Kind of like special occasion beers. Good beers, though, all around.

Considering it's 6 bucks at the brewery, that's a great price.

Like them both, but I tend to agree that Lunch is superior to Another One -- again, totally personal preference -- but maybe my bottle of Another One was older? I think it tends to sit on the shelf for a bit, while Lunch is normally gone pretty quickly.

Not to go too far OT, as its a different style, but I think Zoe is exceptional as well.

More decent ipa's that gain legend status. Im really tired of this trend.

Was it better than the first batch? - I made the investment and Another One was a letdown. They are known for big changes from batch to batch of the same recipe, so if this round is better then I might give it a go.

I completely agree there are many decent IPAs that achieve legendary status, I just happen to feel that Another One surpasses that description by a mile and a half. Show me a six pack beer that matches the quality and I'll be impressed.

That is an interesting notion that there is variation between batches, and not unimaginable.
The samples I have tried from the 8/6/13 batch have been solid so far 3 bottles into the haul.
