All week I opted for Helles lager... starting with Lowenbrau, then Hofbrau Munchen, next was Weihenstephaner and finally today, Spaten... i wonder what next week will bring... any suggestions? (sticking with the german theme of course)....................

Can you get your hands on some Schlenkerla Helles? Mix it up a bit with a hint of smoke among all the rich maltiness....

See of you can get your hands on some Neuschwansteiner. All of a sudden I'm seeing displays of it, maybe they're making a push to get noticed. Anyway, it's quite good and worth consideration, and probably very fresh.

Is Ayinger Jarhundert a Helles? Either way, it's one tasty beer.

Yep - go with Ayinger Jarhundert (technically a an 'Export' beer, but who's counting) and never look back.

Not sure if it's in the US, but Allgäuer has a Buble Bier Bayrisch Hell and Monchshof has a Bayrisch Hell as well.

I thought I'd mention them because they are very good German beers. I knew they weren't that style.

Yes Schlenkerla Lagerbier all the way. I love the light smoke profile. Awesome beer to drink while cooking on a wood-fired grill on a warm sunny day. Augustiner's really tasty also.

Got it, even though it looks like others missed it too.

    Carry on.
