Odell IPA right now. Very nice. As crazy as it may sound but its getting almost as common as Torpedo around here. But that is no bad thing.

I take it there has been a new shipment of Stone beers to the uk as I've seen a lot of them in shops here, fresh too like yours

Stone Ruination, bottled about a month and a half ago. Fantastic beer, obviously, but drinking a fairly fresh bottle really underpins how fantastic the British brewing scene is right now (where American-style beers are concerned; British brewing, of course, has been great for many years when it comes to numerous styles). There are several local IPAs I could think of that I prefer.

Buy a bottle of Sublimely Self-Righteous. More impressive fresh than most of their standard beers.

I'm opting for another Odell IPA tonight. Superb complexity and depth. Gotta get all the 'Its American and still pretty fresh' stuff out before I make another necessary purchase of British bottles.

Been drinking copious amounts of Purple Moose Ysgawen. Turns out cascade and elderflowers are a great combo.

My weekend is going to be dedicated to Boggart Brewing
apparently it's been going for the past 13 years and I never knew!

They brew out of the Old Wilson's site and have a little combined bar bottle shop in Manchester Arndale called the "Microbar" all the bottles are bottle condition so will have a couple of pints on cask after work tomorrow
and a couple of carry homes.

For tonight found stray bottle of Steam Box's Dark Handsome in BM's
and though not my thing will give a cold Peroni red a go.

Had a Dead Pony Club earlier. Looks like BrewDog has flogged it as well. Are none of their more 'core' beers sacred to them?

FFS, DPC was a tasty little brew that was on the basic BD price range and nicely sessionable at 3.8

I guess what is considered sacred is the stuff that commands the highest per litre price
Equity for punks? Pandering to rich beer snobs more like!

I'm just back from the Microbar in Manchester Arndale and
they have a small bottle shop to the side that has a nice selection but isn't the best value.

Also the bar is a standard indoor market stall so the casks are on the floor just below the pump and at room temp
which today is bloody warm) meaning the beer came out like a tap that hasn't been run.

I can't review the beers because they were no way near served at best
I had Ayr Breweries Scaur O'Doon Summer Ale - 3.6% ABV

and I can see where they were coming from with this beer would love it properly done
    a good light beer.

Tried Boggart's Ray of Sunshine which had a big wheaty taste
though this could be a result of poor maintenance lmao
also sampled their Rum Porter that certainly had a good rum flavour and was the best of a middle range lot.
I've taken home a bottle of the Boggart red ale "Ruby Tuesday"
and with it being bottle conditioned and now stored in my hugely complex beer cellar should give a better view of this brewery. Really wanted to try the Boggart Dark Mild because they are situated where the Old Wilson's brewery was and their dark mild saved my life, will nearly.

Damn, was looking forward to picking some up

I really didn't like it, the cinnamon taste I enjoyed but the sweetness seemed to come from something like aspartame or saccharin

It's worth a try - better than macro lager but not as flavoursome as it could be. Was anticipating more hops. William's Ceilidh stilll flies the flag for quality UK lager.

I totally agree - if it weren't for the artificial sweetness this might be better than it is.....
