Just had my first fresh 2013 DDBA this past weekend.

    It is awesome.

Drink it now, or save it for later. Whichever you want, depending on how many bottles you've purchased (or plan on purchasing).

Double DBA is pretty underrated in my opinion. I really like it, both fresh and with time on it.

In my opinion, I thought that the 2013 DDBA was a lot more drinkable fresh than the 2012 DDBA was. Now my tastes may have changed over time, but my recollection was 2012 was a lot more harsh.

On the other hand, I popped open my last 2012 a week or so before the 2013 hit the stores, and it was excellent.

I love it fresh. Aged – not so much. All the bourbon character morphs into pure vanilla (which some people will like, but not me).

I had a half over at Beachwood yesterday after a full pour of Hopsickle. Liked it. But strong. I think it around 13%. I will buy a couple. One for soon to open and another for later on down the road to open. I still have one from last year I haven't opened yet. Getting ready to pull to plug.

Haven't had 2013 yet, but had 2012 twice. One fresh and another about a month ago. It was a lot more sweeter but still good. I'd preferred fresh a lot more though.

Yeah, I thought 2013 was a lot better fresh than 2012 was. But having had 2012 recently, it tasted a lot better aged. So I guess I'll be drinking my 2013 sooner rather than later as I always go light on buying these as it seems they stay on the shelf for a long time unlike Parabola or Sucaba.

Had my 1st DDBA, No. 002 vintage last night. I loved it! ISO No. 001 now!

I had it last Friday at a bar and wasn't a fan at all. I had already purchased a couple bottles though, so will probably just sit on them for a while and revisit it later.

I was really excited about this, last year was really awesome for me. But this bottle came off pretty bitter and one dimentional for me on the back end. No lingering notes, just sort of thin tasting. I kept having to keep my nose in the glass while drinking to keep getting barrel notes. I need to see how it ages I think. Interesting that most people have the opposite experience in here. I already grabbed a few of them so i'll see how they improve with time.

Doesn't come in a box anymore. FW demoted it. F--- would not buy again.

Not true, still in a box like parabola and sucaba. Maybe where you seen it, it was taken out.

Hahaha, oops. Well I know what I'm buying today then!

In all seriousness, loved the beer fresh last year, but really didn't like what age did to it. Hope to come across it on tap, but won't be buying any to hold onto.

I love DDBA. Probably my favorite of the whole series. Minority opinion, I know, but it's so tasty.

Disagree about what a year has done to the first batch. Opened one last night just to see if you guys are right and it's actually really delicious. Current year is a lesser beer for me. Hopefully in a year it will improve. I'm throwing them to the back of the closet

I really like this beer with age. I also really like finding bottles for $12.50.

Had it on tap a couple of weeks ago and loved it.

I had last year's version out of the bottle and on tap. Wasn't too impressed with it out of the bottle, but thought it was great on tap.

If you see bottles of DDBA without a box, they're probably batch 1. FW released a bunch of stock of 2012 a while back, and they came unboxed.
