I plan on going there but I just did a cab fare estimate and it says $27 one way without tip. That could end up being an expensive bar trip. They seem to always have an impressive tap list though.

I usually do what you did (post in the area) when I travel to a new place. You might try another thread that says something like, Who wants to trade for some Jester King??? People outside Texas are all hyped up on JK and the ones that are usually are able to trade some pretty nice stuff. That will also make it so you dont have to run all over, that and you need room in your suit case anyhow...

This website is a good resource for what is available somewhere in comparison to the area you hail from.

I did check out seekabrew as soon as I found out I was going and it looked to me that they don't get much that we don't. I'm still up in the air if I am even going to take a checked bag or just a carry on which will be the difference between bringing stuff back with me or having to ship myself something. I guess I could just go have a good time in Vegas and not even worry about beer while I'm there.

As far as drinking while you're there goes, I enjoyed The Pub at Monte Carlo (good selection), Sin City Brewing Co locations (decent beer, draft only), and Nine Fine Irishmen in NY, NY (atmosphere).

There are a couple Nevada breweries: Tenaya Creek, Sin City and Joseph James.

They get a few things we don't as well: Harvestoun (Scotland - awesome), and JW Lees are a few that come to mind. They may get a few things from Cali that we don't as well...Bruery?

Either way, I'm sure you can find something interesting to bring to the next Nobi share!

I believe Vegas gets some Evil Twin stuff as well.

Anybody who wants Evil Twin should let me know. A store near me has a very large amount of their stuff.

Thanks for all the info. Just a FYI... we do get Harviestoun here, I just picked up the Ola Dubh 12 & 16 at Specs a few weeks back. I will however be sure to write down these bars you mention for a good beer while Im there. Thx again

Cool, I think that must be one of the new brands that came when the new importer hit Texas a couple months ago. I love their stuff, but it's partly sentimental from my trip to Scotland. Texas has been on fire with new stuff coming in, it's excitingly hard to keep track!

I'm not sure on their distribution because Evil Twin is kind of weird with certain beers but all of their stuff is a week's paycheck.

I may be exaggerating a bit but I was told Imperial Biscotti Break is $15. All of their bombers are around that range.

I'm waiting to hear back from a few friends, but if they're a no-go, I'd be in for 2-3 bottles!

I'd love to try your HT clone.

Rest assured I've had enough of the original to make a educated taster. :grinning:

    Did you harvest the yeast?
