I know Beachwood has no corkage fee (as long as you pour a taste for the workers there) and I believe Playground is the same. Anyone know of any other places with no corkage fee in OC area? Would like to organize a small little bottleshare with some friends at a pub for a change. Appreciate any info and thanks in advance. Cheers!

Out of the Park Pizza has always been cool with bottle shares, and no corkage fee.

You can come to my kitchen for free. I'll make pizza rolls and open beers for folks.

If you dont have a personal relationship with a venue, how is said venue supposed to benefit from this?

Not sure if I understand your question fully... but I suppose some places without corkage fees, wine or beer, do so because it's alluring to some potential customers. The benefit would be more business.

I suppose Im more referring to places without food or with little food as a revenue stream, which, I realized, Beachwood and Playground have substantial food programs.

I also, am not insinuating that you are referring to places w/o food programs, just think its an interesting topic in general going back to the foundation of corkage fees with regards to wine and restaurants.
