Winemakers very often are avid beer drinkers, but I'll bet that brewers mostly stay with beer.

As a homebrewer. I love an American style blonde with a nice hop kick. Must be sessionable. One of my go to beers is Gumballhead.

This was before i moved to Netherlands. Now I'm trying to brew one to satisfy myself. Still haven't found a beer that pleases me like a Gumballhead.

I have not had a chance to drink or discuss this topic with FW brewers yet, though I am hoping to remedy that situation in December.

Im a homebrewer and I tend toward big beers (high ABV) wether it be an Imp Pilsner or a Bourbon Stout, I also tend to brew bigger beers too. This isnt to get drunk it is because I like the complexity.

Complexity does not always mean big and huge.

I like German lagers and some British ales. Some are complex at under 5%. A very complex ale was Harvey's Mild at 3% on cask in England, and ask myself how could this be possible.

Just for the record, I have been Homebrewing for 20 years.

That is the plan, though I am hoping I will run into him a bit closer to home than Paso Robles.

Speaking for myself and the few dozen brewers I know, I can't think of one who likes pumpkin beers.

I love it how people think we are not mere mortals and only drink the most exotic, hardest to get things possible.
I mean fine dining chefs aren't shaving truffles over high grade foie in their home kitchens..I used to be one...just give me a burger
The appropriate beer at the perfect time for your personal taste I think is the answer to the question

I think the answer is as diverse as peoples music tastes. Czech Pilsners and Porters are my favorite even though they are very different. If I go into a brewery I've never been I always go for a taster tray to try as many things as possible.

Brewers, just like everyone else, have changing tastes depending on the situation. After a long day judging beers at a festival or something, the last thing I want is a hop bomb...in that case, I'm most likely going to drink a gin martini, and a huge glass of water. During those times, my palate is shot, I want to have a drink and relax.
As a rule, though, I'm a sucker for a really good German pilsner...I like Jever personally and I order it whenever I see fresh bottles. I always order Boulevard Tank 7 if it's available. I love Orval. I often drink Allagash White for breakfast... I was living in Chicago and drank a LOT of Zombie Dust and Daisy Cutter. But at the end of the day, our Draught-style Pale Ale is, and will always be, the beer I go to most often regardless of the situation.
