What would be the logic behind this idiotic statement? If he did he was a lot more generous than the eBay people. I bet anyone debating buying one would give up what was traded to this guy instead of w/e eBay is asking for. The way I see it he was generous if he bought them just to flip them for beer and those have turned into some damn expensive beers.

Your mind is operating on a higher level than mine. I can't even comprehend your thought process.

He said each ticket was 100 right? So he got roughly 30 bucks of beer for his 100 buck ticket? I don't see how that's not a good deal for the other party

Plain and simple.. You gave $100 for a ticket??traded it for 2 beers?? Would you give $100 for the two beers you got??? If you answer YES.. Then no..you didn't get took...if you wouldn't have paid that much for two bottles, then you answered your own question!!

I actually thought about starting it, but the fruit was too low-hanging.

You could have probably swapped the ticket with someone who would have agreed to pay for and give you 2 of the DL's from the allowed amount. You could have then traded those two DL's to 2 people that didn't get a shot at tickets for a few delish things they have....making 3 people happy and not feeling as if you got hosed, which you did. Is that what you were looking to know?

Haha, I appreciate the civility. No, I am attending DLD, and have wanted to go for awhile, and this is the first time I could. I was hoping the girlfriend could go originally, but I didn't check her work schedule, so I had one ticket left, and didn't want it to go to waste, nor did I want to gauge people. Just wanted to give a ticket to a Rate Beer member for something relatively fair, but the consensus I'm getting is it was a bit unbalanced from my end.

The few days after DLD tickets went on sale, there were trade posts along the lines of FT: KH/RARE ISO: ONE TICKET. So yeah, you didn't get the best possible deal out of it, especially considering that the tickets then were $15, and your ticket now is $100+.

I was ok with the value being a bit low from a principle standpoint, even if I did get scalped, but just was just wondering if everyone had the same thoughts of it being low (didn't realize how low, rookie trade mistake I guess). Live and learn.

I might preemptively start the aforementioned "I got a DLD ticket for two off the shelf beers" thread to show how generous I am... yeah, so generous and awesome... :astonished:

Better yet, if you have 10 hours to spare, I know a guy who could use a hand with re-roofing a house. He pays $10 an hour. If you wanted, after you're done roofing, you could stop by and pick up a case of Heineken from me for your day's wage.

Just chalk it up as a learning experience. And you can learn a lot about life and beer in this thread.

Basically trying to do something nice for a girlfriend can spiral out of control and bite you in the ass in the long run.

Don't take women to beerfests or golfing unless they're in the upper echelon of oxymorons, i.e. being hot and cool at the same time.

Bramble + Sanctification > 1 DLD ticket on April 29th. If you end up loving the Bramble and Sanctification then who's to say you made a bad trade?
