Same price per ounce in my area. $7.99 for the 4pk cans, $8.99 for the 6pk bottles.

Here's the problem. Many retailers still aren't used to pricing 4pks of anything. When they scan the invoice for case price, nine times out of ten they divide the case cost by 4 (as they're used to doing with 6pks) then multiply by (avg) 1.3 to get the selling price.
If you see a 4pk of tallboys priced higher than a 6pk of 12oz, Mr Retailer did some careless math. As others have said, cost per ounce should be equal - 4pk should avg 7.99 and 6pk should avg 8.99.

In MN, a store i frequent has six packs for 6.99, and the 4pk for 7.99. Stupid. Everyother place i have seen it have them priced the same at 7.99 each. All these stores have many 4pks, so careless math shouldnt be an issue. I wonder if the distributor truly has them set at the same price per ounce as in about 10 stores, I havent seen torpedo for any price but 7.99 for cans.

$8 for a four pack in NH. I thought it was a really good deal. Not sure why Sierra Nevada is becoming the whipping boy on pricing when theirs is about the best of anyone in the craft beer industry.

$8 for 64 oz. of a fresh IPA thats over 7% ABV is a solid deal.

I think they are "the whipping boy" because some of us would like to see cans bring the price per oz. down from bottles.

I've only seen them at one store thus far in Michigan and they're $6.99 a 4 pack. That's a buck less than I usually see the 6 packs priced at.

Same in my local store. $7.99 each. I'll buy the cans for fishing or camping, otherwise bottles make more sense. The best deal is if you can get 12 packs on sale.

I have three camping trips planned this summer, and I take my boat out fishing almost every weekend, but even still, i dont go out of my way to buy cans. I believe MN state parks have rules in place that prevent glass, but rangers are pretty lax on that. All my camping will be in WI this year anyway.

If the beer I want happens to be in cans(Fury, Bitter American, OB), great, but i wont buy a beer just because its in a can. I do love torpedo, but your right, 12pks for 11.99-12.99 are the best deal going in craft beer.

If I remember correctly the four packs are $7.49 and the sixers are $8.49 in local markets here in NorCal. As usual, SN offers a bargain compared to similar beers. I've been buying the cans.

The bottles seem like a better deal everywhere you go. What's up with that?

Sierra Nevada has stated that they've priced them similarly on a per ounce basis, so "what's up" are distributors and/or retailers trying to make an extra buck on a new package apparently.
