Doom is just that, Doom... I had one bottle a month ago and it put me to sleep, crazy-stong. The whiskey flavor on my tongue made it a bit much but i'm a pale kind of guy so what do i know.

Honestly, I'm glad I got to try it for only $13/bottle. Had I paid the $20+/bottle in my usual Philly market after being forced to stab someone for the privilege of getting a chance to buy a bottle, I'd be uber-pissed.

Even now, I'd prefer a 4-pk of Double Trouble based on taste & cost.

Well seeing that Tree House brewing and Jack's Abby are an hour away from me I'd automatically choose any beer from those breweries. As for in my local shop, I'd go with Weihenstephaner Hefe, Founders Porter, Stone Espresso Imperial Stout (yes it's still there), Alesmith Speedway Stout, and a tie between Saison Dupont & Maine Beer Co. MO.

Marty's! In Newton, right outside of Boston. If you're able to make it out this way and you feel like sending me a message giving me a rough sense of when you might come through, I can try to arrange my schedule so I'm on shift that day...like I said, the first Top 5 are pretty much all in the private collection of my manager, but if I'm on shift I can probably dredge up a few hidden gems for a fellow BA
