I went last year and it was such an enjoyable night. Perfect weather and a rooftop looking at the city. Great local selection and very relaxing. Hoping plans don't interfere this year, loved it!

I'll be attending this year and I went last year as well. I was lucky enough to book a hotel directly at the Seaport Trade Center $150 bucks. Do you know if tree house is going to be there?

I recently moved to MA from MI and was curious about this festival. Are most of the beers offered on tap, or poured from bottles? Do the brewers typically attend, or are the beers poured by festival volunteers? Is this fest typically a good example of MA breweries have to offer? Thanks for any info, and hopefully I'll get to see for myself!

No Night Shift, Trillium, or Tree House....probably going to pass.

I've poured with a brewer friend the last couple years, but won't be making it this year due to a prior committment. The majority of the beers at the fest are poured by tap. There might be a few bottles here and there, but you'd really have to look for them. A lot of the brewers do attend the fest and will pour beer with brewery employees, volunteers or friends in my case. The fest is a great example of what MA brewers have to offer. Many will have their year round offerings, as well as seasonals and special releases. As long as the weather is good the location is great with an awesome view of the city as the sun sets. Since you're new to the state it's a great chance to try local beers without having to buy a 6 pack or pint at a bar.

A quick heads up for those of you considering attending the fest. Brewers throughout the state got together to brew a special set of cask beers that will only be available at the Mass Brewers Fest. We brewed the base beer, which is an English Mild, at Mayflower Brewing Company, and a number of brewers came down to Plymouth to create their own casks from it. Additions spanned a bunch of different things including dry hops, oak, bacon, hot peppers, cucumbers and at least two different versions of smores! Should be fun trying them all. Cheers!

You could always visit Trillium right down the street beforehand. ;-)

    To each their own.

I'd consider Harpoon and Trillium within walking distance, although Trillium is still not allowed to serve or have samples, so it's only growlers (32 or 64; Harpoon only has 64 AFAIK, but also sells bottles). Nightshift now has a full taproom and got all permits in order. So they can serve everything on tap (apparently, as of today)!

Most if not every company will have a brewer and employee in the house. At least, last years was that way. Most brewpubs have the brewer there. Larger breweries may have a rep or two and a brewer.

I will be pouring High Horse and I will be there to talk beer, process, and juggling. Come say hi!

Really? Because those three won't be there, you going to pass? Seems silly to pass for that reason. have you had the rest of the beers? Or are they too accessible? I am guessing you haven't it all, especially mine. I say go for it... we MA breweries may surprise you. Last year there were many one offs and other cool less than accessible options to try.

Hope to see you there. Come by and say hello!

Thanks... Got plenty to drink at home--dulls the pain, as they say (doesn't mix with Ibuprofen, though--does a number on the kidneys):stuck_out_tongue:
