How often do you drink a brewery's 'standard' beer?

I drink a ton of Hoponius Union. SNPA and Harpoon IPA are the next two standards in terms of regularity.

Lot of factors to consider here: what’s the standard brewery, standard brew, standard price, or what’s standard by region. That is, I love Jai Alai, but it’s by no means a standard here in NJ. Same could be said for those living in VT. Or at least they have no option when it comes to “The Alchemist,” seeing as though the standard is pretty obvious.

If that’s the case, then my standard breweries are Kane, Carton, and High Point

    Amen!
If you can find jai alai is turning into another matter, but according to news the shortage should be lessened soon.

I find that right now I am trying to buy every single special release that everyone else seems to have had the privilege of trying except me, so I am playing catch-up with some of the very well known and high ranked BA beers. But I started really liking beers when I had my first authentic German Hefe's and Belgian style beers, so every now and then especially in the summer, I like to grab a sixer of Hofbrau or Fransizkaner (don't know if I spelled that right) and enjoy with family. Being that I moved to Iowa though and most people here enjoy such high brow brews as Bud Light and Coors (sarcasm), I can't really enjoy too many "exotics" anymore on tap so I have to step back into my roots and have a standard like Boston Lager, or Goose Island something. By the way any Iowan BAs out there I am trying to get an idea of where the nearest good liquor stores are or bars that have a good selection.

It depends on how a standard is defined. I drink a bunch of Hoponius Union and Cloak and Dagger. They are in the year round offerings from JA, so I think those are standards for that brewery. We have also been on a Troegs kick of late with DreamWeaver and Troegenator...again both year round offerings. But I also drank a bunch of good old Narragansett Lager over the summer, especially at get togethers where there is a mixed crowd. I guess these days I mostly drink what I like and am experimenting a little bit less, so the regular rotation has stabilized somewhat. Still like to taste new things, but the number has decreased substantially. Where the car would be mostly untried beers before, now it is only one or two per trip. Tastings would be different...everything is fair game then.

Well, if it's about year-rounders like that, I'd say that they've definitely declined for me- with the caveat that I highlighted earlier about seasonal releases. Still- I have always enjoyed SABL and SNPA and still get them, but not as frequently as in years past.

I try to keep SNPA in the fridge at all times. Comes in handy when I have company or when my palate is shot from too many IPAs.

The times I go back to the basics is when there isn't much to choose from if i'm dining out or if I really coudln't find anything to get at the package store.

Seems like often the bars don't even offer the "standards" on tap. But for home, SNPA is a common choice for me.

Went back to my "standard" 60 Minute IPA and was still impressed. Didn't have the hop bite I remember but was very sessionable. The six pack went down too easy and I see a case in the future.

I do love Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, but that's more of a nostalgia factor. I'm a lot more interested in trying seasonal selections when I'm visiting a hall than having the same old standard.

When I was living in Florida, I'd drink Jai Alai all the time but, yeah, when I was living in Delaware I'd rarely drink 60 min. But the thing with that is why drink 60 when 90 min is so much better and just as readily available?

As far as the large craft breweries go (SA, SN, DFH etc), I have to admit I rarely buy their flagship beers. SNPA for a BBQ last year was probably my last purchase.

But if I see Edward on tap.... well that's a whole different story.

I always keep SNPA in the fridge. According to untappd, I've checked in drinking it 101 times in the last year.

6-pack of Bell's Two-Hearted in the fridge. My usualy practice when visiting breweries is to try the APA first if they have one - or its equivalent. I like to see how the brewers make their flavorful session beers. It's a good way to see if its a good brewery or if it just has one crazy beer everyone loves.
