I don't support 12oz single bottle limits when the same beer was sitting on their shelves last year, degrading. Not only that, the price per bottle increases after they split their 6pks ups because of said limit. Huge thumbs down.

Dealing with DMV allocation is like Black Friday 24/7

Do people trade out of total selflessness? If you're giving it to a friend/trading partner, I suppose that's one thing. If you're trading it, then you are in turn benefitting.

To answer the question, there are specific situations where one bottle limits may not work, but generally I agree with them. Especially here in NYC where you would never get your hands on any release without them.

I guess we have a difference of opinion. I will go somewhere else, I will not buy that beer. Done and done.

I don't get it. Does this mean if you buy only 1 "rare" beer, you should trade it away because if you drink it yourself that would be selfish? Then the beer you get in the trade, well you would have to trade that away because if you dank it yourself that would be selfish too!

Away I say no limits on buying beer. If I miss out on a special release, no big deal, there are way to many other beers to be had to worry about it. If each brewery in the USA put out just 1 special release a year, I'll have to drink 6 beers a day to keep up. Now if you include the global #'s as well...

    cheers

If the bottle is sold as a single already and limited yes. If its a 4 or 6 pack they break up, then no.

I thought legally to sell alc, it had to be in 16oz increments or more?

There's nothing wrong with a store selling a rarer beer by the 12oz bottle. It's all about getting the beer to as many customers who want to try that beer. If a store only got a case of The Oracle and had no limit, someone would buy out the case and/or it would be gone in 2 minutes. Then there would be complaining that there should be a limit. Certain beers are limited and don't grow on trees. Alot of stores want as many of their customers to get to experience the beer as possible. I always laugh at people complaining about a store putting a 1 bottle limit on KBS for example, just be happy you even have the opportunity to purchase a bottle.

no. Then every single 375ml bottle would be illegal.

If the brewer, distributor, or shop is being an asshole. Just cook it yourself. There are TONS of clone recipes out there and it costs the same.

Is your wife there when you are trying to pick up two bottles or is it a "uh, yeah, my wife isn't here but she wants one" kind of thing? If it is the latter I'd tell you to go kick rocks.

I must have spent 10, 000 in that store and they have meet my wife so it's not a problem, but I do have to talk to the manager first usually.

Really? You sound like a 5 year old who just found out what capitalism means. What would be "unAmerican" is some sort of stupid legislature or unwritten law that dictates how small businesses choose to distribute their product.

I'll make it myself if it's something I really want, and God Bless America. The shop is a middle man, who supposedly sells beer. It should be sold how the brewery intended.

I like a pack limit. One 4 or 6 pack, don't bring your friend.

I do have a problem with 1 12oz per person rule. Of course, I gather all of my coworkers and friends to go in with me to get what I'm looking for....and they know it. Although, I don't raid the shelves. I can understand wanting to give everyone a chance, but 1 12oz bottle is being stingy. I would be happy with 2 per person limit (equivalent to a bomber). One bomber would be fine.

Exactly where do these rights come from (other than your own sense of entitlement)

Oh it's my rights as a buyer not to buy, and I think you people know that. Like I said... if there are only four sixes, and they are gone...I'm not bothered...oops, I missed it, big deal. If it is a specialty bomber, a two limit is perfectly understandable, but to split up a six, that was intended to be sold as a six and tell people.."nope, I'm only selling you one...NO SOUP FOR YOU!". That's being an asshole.
