Zwanze Day @ WLV

I heard it is still happening.

 

No advance tickets. Just show up day of any get a glass and a ticket for your pour of Zwanze. I think it was $25 last year.

I'm glad it will be earlier in the year again so they can use the outdoor space more (even though it was a quite nice day last year).

 

I am curious about info as well. My dad will be in town from Mexico and I think he might enjoy this.

 

So you just get a pour or can you buy a bottle?

Any idea on time of day?

 

In the past, Kristina put bottles out for sale along with stuff like Pliny the Younger.

 

No bottles of Zwanze 2013 for sale. There have been other special bottles sold in the past, but that aspect shouldn't be your focus. So much great beer on tap and being shared. Zwanze is tapped at 2pm CST I believe.

 

From my conversation with Kristina last weekend, she does not have a permit for people to drink outside. Same rules as last year.

That still sounds fun, I have Riot Fest tickets that day so I just want to see if I can make it work. Did you have to show up really early to have a chance of getting in? Line out the door or anything like that?

 

Gotta show up early either way. In same boat as you. A Riot Fest schedule would help as well

 

I actually hope she doesn't put anything fancy out for sale, there was a weird, hoarding element that wasn't there the first year.

 

So much this. People standing in the deli simply to fight for bottles of Cantillon, CBS, or Rare. If you need some Cantillon that bad, place an order on Etre and stay away.

 

It would be nice if any special bottles were raffled or something. Just so there could be a better system instead of people camping waiting for bottles. That being said I hope there is another bottle share, last years was great and hopefully I can bring something tasty to share.

 

This would be my first year attending Zwanze Day at Westlakeview, other than the taps a bottle share is happening as well? Agree on the hoarding aspect, no need to rush, those bottles sit on Etre and Belgium in a box all the time...

Cantillon on tap, what could be better?

 

The clamoring for the bottle sales last year was straight-up childish and embarrassing. People should control themselves.

 

If by "element" you mean "comprised entirely of" then I would agree. Spot any familiar faces?

Yeah I had a few pours of FF while this was going on. I was planning on bringing my bottle of upland kiwi or something tasty. I know last years bottle share was more because of fobab, so I hope one happens again this year.
