It is ridiculously good, but I agree about the cost. I walk by it all the time at my local Piggly Wiggly, and keep telling myself to buy a bottle, but I shudder at a $15/bottle price for a local beer.

Evil Twin brews a lot here with Westbrook, but damn - y'all are too proud of yourselves.

There's one high rated IPA I've never seen. There's a high rated barelywine I've never seen. There's a black ale I've never seen. Those are the only non stouts with 4.00's or better. Reviews don't normally take price into strong consideration and there's a bias in reviews as far as price goes. So no....it looks like the reviews support my earlier comments rather strongly.

And well, why would I care if others disagree with me? People seem to watch reality tv. It seems people watched the VMA's. All of these are things I wouldn't be caught dead doing. Those other people's views mean nothing to me. Hoppin Frog is over priced for the money as far as I'm concerned and my concern is the only one I can offer to this thread.

You claimed prices were better in Ohio, I simply stated that the prices aren't better perhaps with the exception of at the brewery or right around it (can't comment on that one).

Heady... Oh wait, we are talking about overpriced, not underpriced beers here.

I had The Bruery Bois on tap here in MA and it was amazing. So amazing I ALMOST
thought about spending the $34.99 on one but just can't bring myself to do it. :-(

Quality? Somehow that seems to be subjective. My argument for Stone is exactly that $8.99/per bomber is over-priced.

Eleven of their beers are rated 4 or better and 14 are ranked above 3.8. That amounts to 75% of their beer styles rated at 3.8 or better. Not too shabby. And I don't get why you added the disclaimed about "non stouts." Not sure why that diminishes the perception of the quality of their beers that most of their highest rated beers are stouts.

Prices are better in Ohio. Maybe you've rarely shopped for beers out of state? Hoppin Frog beers are double and triple their Ohio prices in other states, and yet people seem to buy them anyway, because they continue to ship to other states.

And to repeat, from my reading, a lot of BAs seem to think $10-20 for a bomber of quality beer isn't unreasonable, so $8-15 for Hoppin' Frog is apparently reasonable also.

Bombers of FFF are way overpriced, I don't know why they even make some of their beers like Dreadnaught and Arctic Panzer Wolf in bombers, they should just make them 4 packs and charge 10$. They probably make 500% off those kind of beer bombers and that's why I'd only get 1 or 2 bombers when I visit. Their 6 packs are reasonably priced at the brewery though.

Ballast Point and Maine Beer Co. are the two that jump to mind. Around here, I'd put Stone and Green Flash in the same catergory, but I understand they aren't so expensive in other areas. I like Sculpin, but I cannot believe that people pay that price for it when the market is so full of awesome IPA's.

Sun King and FFF's. I am in-state and everything is at least 3-5 dollars cheaper out of state.

And, while we're at it, how about "almost-every-saison-available."

I love the Bruery but they get my vote. Lots of people say Evil Twin or Mikeller but from my experience the Bruery is significantly more overpriced than either of them.

I think a vast majority of breweries with rarities or one offs, or limited availability brews are way over priced yet, I will buy the brews I find in the over priced category on a consistent basis.

    Surly
    3F
    TG
    GI
    Hoppin Frog
    The Bruery
    Founders

All of the above listed breweries I find way over priced but I will continue to buy their offering because I enjoy their creations.

I understand my statement was very subjective. But I literally have never met anyone into craft beer who is not into buying up as much of the Stone release supply as possible. In this summer alone they have came out with RuinTen, R&R, W00tstout, the German hopped IPA (forget the name), and Enjoy By. All of these beers were excellent and well worth the price. Enjoy By at 6.99 is a damn bargain for how great of a DIPA it is.

    Maine Beer.

Stone 750s cause me pain, but then I enjoy the beer so friggin' much. Cheap? No. Overpriced? Not really.

SN Ovila series. It's decent, but fairly pricey, considering you can usually get Ommegang, Trappist ales, or Allagash cheaper.

I have had some hits(porter) and misses(barleywine) with Mikkeller, but I have never been knocked off my feet, particularly for the price.

I bought WootStout and R&R, but only because they were collabs. While I enjoyed the WootStout, the R&R was a disappointment.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy their brews, it's not like you're alone...but I'm not on that boat with ya'll.
