Great question! I agree! Tecate, Sol, Corona, too me, they're all the same beer! Does anybody in Mexico make anything interesting or different?

I think Corona on a hot day is awesome.

I live in Arizona and eat Mexican food...., well I pretty much eat it every day. I am a huge craft beer fan, but the Mexican restaurants tend to have Mexican beers, I opt for Negro Modelo.

A few of the good mexican craft upcoming breweries are: Minerva, Cucapá, Calavera, Tempus, Insurgente, Propaganda.

Short's is Cerveza De Julie -- not that it matters that much but I figure I'd point that out.

I really enjoy it. Last year's was way too limey for my tastes. This year--a whole different story. We started using key limes and it's beautifully balanced.

    A great summer brew.

In order of preference: Negra Modelo and Dos Equis Amber--OK; Modelo Especial, Dos Equis Dark and Bohemia--meh, average; Dos Equis Lager and Modelo Especial--on the better side of AAL; Pacifico, Corona and Tecate--footwash. Can't say I've had any other Mexican beers. But it sounds like there is an open opportunity to a Spanish-speaking brewer to get a Mexican craft start-up going and import it back to the US.

    Seriously?

    1) Because I don't want to pair my Heady Toppers on taco night.

    2) What else should I drink after my palate is destroyed from a couple margaritas?

    3) I like the taste of of real lime.

    4) When in Rome...

    Nough said

Why bother with American beers? They're all fizzy, yellow, tasteless, piss cans...

yeah, here is the deal, whatever Mexico lacks in beer, they more than make up for in tequila which is my high octane alcoholic beverage of choice, also including mezcals and other blue agave distilled liquors. the good stuff is good.

    +1 on mezcal.

When I look at menus deciding which Mexican restaurant to patronize in a city, I always look for mezcal, not beer. It's smoky and delicious.

Big Star in Chicago makes their house margaritas with mezcal. Ever since trying their margarita that's how I order a margarita, if possible - with mezcal. It can get pricey, but it's totally worth it.

Because some people LIkE them. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean someone else doesn't. Hell, I loathe Bud but a buttload of people like it. It's just beer; drink what you like/whatever knocks your socks off.
