Not when they finally pick the correct hops.

Sipping this now and it is dank and delicious. I am a sweaty sock Simcoe ***** though.

I really like Tumbler. It's a really well-executed brown ale. What did you expect? It's a popular style and it reaches out to beer drinkers who love Newcastle and dislike Sierra Nevada because "their beers are too hoppy" (I have met many a person who has expressed this sentiment.) Yeesh...

That freaking sucks about tumbler. I love IPA's and they are probably my favorite style, but how long until American craft beer ceases to be any style other than IPA's and their numerous variants...
I like to drink other styles as a change of pace, but pretty soon the only non-hoppy beer is going to be the old-ass IPA's on the shelf that have fallen off..
The fact that they have 3/4 seasons of the year as IPA's is ridiculous.

I bought a 12pk at my local grocery store for 12.99. Great beer for the $, but Ruthless Rye and Celebration are better IMO. Also, comparisons to Lagunitas RED and Nugget Nectar fall short.

For those of you who didn't like Tumbler, let me ask: Why?

I'm not some huge fan of the beer, but there was not one thing about it that I found un-enjoyeable. The more important point (which has already been made) is that Sierra Nevada makes a ton of IPA's! A brown ale was a nice change of pace while I'm waiting for Celebration Ale to hit shelves. Now, without Tumbler, I'll have a red IPA to tide me over until a slightly-less red IPA comes out in winter. Don't get me wrong, IPA's are my favorite style; but I'm just thinking from a diversity standpoint here. Don't keep the brown ales down!

Sierra Nevada is only one brewery. They happen to make primarily hoppy beers. American craft beer is much bigger than SN. There are tons of non hoppy offerings out there. I buy cases upon cases of SN product and have never tried Tumbler. Brown Ales are boring. I did however buy two cases of Anchor Brekle's Brown yesterday for $10 apiece (score!). I love IPAs. The vast majority of what I drink are IPAs. It seems that those who buy SN agree with me. That is, if Tumbler sold better surely they wouldn't be discontinuing it. Get over it.

Your post is encouraging. I love Simcoe, and was totally underwhelmed with the Beer Camp offerings. Hopefully this meets my expectations.

Picked this up today and had one about an hour ago. Nothing mind blowing, but it is another very solid beer from the folks at SN. And as is typical with SN, you can't beat the price at $12.99/12 pack.

Would like to see both this and Tumbler in the fall.

I had Flipside Red at my favorite pizza place Saturday night. Draft into a 16 ounce Sierra Nevada glass. While enjoyed it, I will take Torpedo over Flipside any day.
