Man, if you've only offended 50%, you're doing it wrong. You take lithium by eating rechargeable batteries, right? That how I do it.

In all seriousness, the most outstanding German beers just sit on shelves here because they aren't aged in barrels and infected as hell, so it's odd to think you'd have a hard time finding Hacker-Pschorr Oktfest. I can get the best doppelbocks in the world by going to a Spec's and dusting a few bottles, so I hope it's not a problem finding the beer you're looking for.

I appreciate the input. I honestly haven't looked too hard for HP this year... I just know I got the last 6 pack where I first saw it and the release seemed earlier than usual. I was surprised to see it in early Aug. I also know it wasn't even available here 2? years ago (due to distribution issues I think) and was pretty limited last year.

You're assessment is spot on though . Thank God its not BA or 1 of 10,000.

I can't believe this is even a discussion. I drink a lot of German & Bavarian beer and the best stuff just sits! Even if you wait a month, chances are they won't even go through a case of this stuff, lol.

I'm consistently surprised that Weihenstephaner Vitus is easily accessible... even at the grocery store 365 days a year. It's 7+% (people seem to buy based on ABV nowadays), $3-4 per heavy pint, and one of the best beers in the world, IMHO. Their hefeweissbier is right up there as well. Aventius & Ayinger are the same way.

Alright, I'm on a tangent. BTW, don't buy imports. I was just kidding. they suck.

Some German Oktoberfest's can be a bit on the rarer side. Only a few kegs of Ayinger make to Houston a year. A buddy of mine that used to be a regular on BA always gets one for his O'fest house party. He doesn't post anymore, cause well this place has gone to shit, and through no fault of cfh64, this thread is a prime example.

I am drinking your precious Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest right now on tap at the Bavarian Grill. Very tasty indeed.

Bastid! I'm jealous, it's been way to long since I've been to the BG. Glad you enjoy it as much as I do.

It's still my favorite place to drink beer. No matter how great craft beer is, I have an affinity for German beer and Bavarian grill in particular. Sometimes a properly poured German hefeweizen in the proper glass at the right temperature beats out some of these BBA we swoon over....."sometimes" is the key word there.

Lone Star is posting Oktoberfest pics on their Twitter feed. I can't stand it anymore; I'm headed there now. Can't even delay this gratification until the first day of autumn gets here--pretty sad. Hacker-Pschorr is first on the list, of course.

Maybe I'll even pick up some cheaper stuff to cook some Ungrateful Brats in.

I actually think I've had it and thought it was really good but it was before I started doing "hads". Would love to try it again.

My buddy gave me a tip about 5 cases of shiner oktoberfest that were up for grabs. Wanted 6 but I'll settle.
