Never been to their brewery, thought about it. From the sounds of it I better stay away. Much rather drive down from hartford to NEBCO

In all fairness, they're about 20 minutes away from each other, it's not hard to hit both.

Oh that close? Maybe next time I visit NEBCO I can stop at 2 Roads for a $5 2oz sample

Haha, I don't recall what their sampler prices are, but their "core 4" are $6 a pint, and it goes up from there...

...and still no one from RI gives a fuck.

Resume shit talking though, it's entertaining.

The only thing I've learned so far from this thread is that this brewery should be avoided at all costs.

You know, this whole short barrel aging makes more sense now. I was surprised when I saw the beer was being released as a six pack. I fully expected a more limited bomber.

I don't think they're officially gone, they just rarely ship up there.

We haven't got GBOT in over a year. :slight_frown: The last thing I got was some 668 in Feb. Haven't seen anything fresh since.

It's VERY difficult to get Bot in Fairfield County. I feel your pain. The rest is pretty easy though.

You are 100% correct. They bailed on us also...maybe not officially? But yeah.

I don't know anything about Two Roads, but would be happy to give them a try.

Really dislike the Two Roads negativity that is going on here. They're not the best brewery in the world, but I would never describe them as a brewery to actively avoid. Definitely feels like people are just trying to be down on them because they are large and have a lot of money.

I agree that they're definitely not a brewery to avoid. Everyone has different palates, and you should totally see for yourself. This thread is filled with opinions, and they're just that. Me, I've just been very underwhelmed by most of their beers that I've had.

What I disagree with, is your reason why people are down on them. I don't care how big a brewery is, or how much money they make. Produce great beer, and I'll drink it. I think the reason people are down on them (me at least), is because it seems like they put profits (way) ahead of quality.

living with two roads in my backyard I wish they produced a beer that I could say - yup thats my local brewery. I enjoy the saison, pils, and the hefeweizen but its not something i want to keep stocked in my fridge or pay 6$ a pint - at the brewery. Nothing makes me want to go visit the brewery at all. The firkin thursday, meh! The igors was good but not great and the Roadsmary's I admit is not horrible, but not what its advertised (aged in jamaican rum barrels- really?). Which leads me to this, 2 Roads is all about advertising and driving the masses to their beers! Maybe im wrong but thats what im seeing. I heard they have a few sours in the mix - time will tell but I do know this, Phil has produced a "whale" in his past. Just wish they would make me proud to live in Stratford (although I want to move)

I can only speak for myself, but I believe that with the resources available to them most of us had much higher hopes for Two Roads. With these releases consistently not meeting expectations, it seems reasonable that people are disappointed.

Because every brewery should have at least one whale. If you don't have any walez you are not a good brewery. Ok? Got that? Haha I'm jk bro u know ur my boy. I won't officially comment on Two Roads tho. Hey I didn't know u wanted to move from Stratford? I don't blame ya tho. Haha.
