Truth. There was a big in store promotion with the Tecate Girls at the Mexican grocery store a few months back. I was convinced to get a 24 pack of Tecate. Used it to get myself into the neighbor's cookout that weekend. 16 bucks for all the homecooked Mexican food I could eat plus a huge takehome plate. Good deal to me.

Say what you want, but dos equis amber on draft is pretty tasty with some good Mexican food.

My beer of choice after surfing. The over salted taste buds just eat it up. Maybe they need to start selling a gose version.... (Another environmental enhanced drink choice, tequila with Playa dust in your mouth is also fantastic.)

I don't go out of my way to buy them. However, living in Santa Ana CA, I'm surrounded by mainly Latino people who drink Mexican beers. A lot of my friends are Latino and the parties they invite me to usually only have Mexican beer. I don't want to be rude or disrespectful so I drink what is there.

Red Stripe is not an import. It is brewed at the old Rolling Rock brewery in Latrobe PA. Check your labels dude. Red Stripe is an American Macro just like Budweiser, with an inflated price.
No it's brewed in Latrobe PA at the old Rolling Rock brewery and while it still is brewed in Jamaica for their consumption, the receipe is American.

Some Mexican AAL are as good or bad as Budweiser and Miller/Coors. No big deal I'll drink one every now and then at a Mexican restaurant. Tecata isn't awful, Dos Equis is pretty good as is Negra Modelo.

    From Wiki
So, yes, Red Stripe is brewed in the US but it hasn't be an "American macro" in a very long time, although it did start at a brewery in Illinois before becoming Jamaican staple. But it is contract-brewed in the US, so describing it as "American macro" is a bit off. Are Bass Pale Ale and Beck's "American macros"? Or are they merely pale Americanized versions of their former international selves? Also note that although AB is a rather large fraction of AB-InBev, neither InBev nor SAB (of SABMiller) nor Diageo are American companies. They are international conglomerates with significant US footprint.

I just had DOA IPA from Tecate, shocking bitterness at first with a lager vomit undertones. It got better as I drank more. There are some fantastic microbreweries in the Baja, that barleywine from Chupracaba is really good, imho.

I go regularly to a great local, real taco, sopa spot (El Camino Real) and drink a couple of Negra Modelo drafts and it is perfect with my food. All cheap and excellent!

I'd go with Blueberry Yawn Lager Vomit. The only question is, bucket or [shit]can?

These guys look serious. Have you tried them? I hear Baja has a burgeoning scene as well.

FYI- This iclever marketing. Tecate is behind these beers and have convinced anyone willing to not look at the label that this is small craft out of Mexico.

I did try three of their beers. I was at a wedding and the brewer is a cousin of the groom. The porter was quite interesting with some topical Flavors. They're a real craft brewery and try to use interesting local ingredients like sugars and spices.

Because when you're vacationing with your beautiful bride at a resort in Cancun sometimes the only option is a Negra Modelo, Corona, or a sugar-filled nasty fruit drink.

You go with the flow...and it was New Beer Sunday and sometimes it's ok to have/rate a Corona on New Beer Sunday when you're in Cancun

Yes, because most beer drinkers check BA scores before they buy beer.

And it's true that a high BA score does not a good beer make.
