....just very nearly blew a hole in my ceiling. I'm lucky I only lost a third of the bottle to foam and my floor. Which is weird, because it doesn't taste infected either. Just a complete gusher for some reason.

Just thought I would give a heads up. Carry on.

Also, those of you who are looking for a pinot noir bomb will probably be a bit disappointed.

I found this very unique and quite good, it was well over carbonated but after you poured it and the head settled it was flat. Though being flat help to enhance the Pinot noir IMO.

I agree with this part. Initially very carbonated, but then almost flat. But I thought this beer was a disappointment. Almost solvent-like.

it's carbonated with Champagne yeast. Treat it like Champagne - use a towel to open the bottle, and open it carefully and slowly.

    I think it's delicious.

I would think any Pinot essence would be overwhelmed by the stout part. In fact, any wine would really have to work to come through over the roasty stouts, especially Imperial versions.

Lots of beers are carbonated with champagne yeast, but they don't have to be overcarbonated just because of the yeast...

This is also a valid point. I guess because I knew the brewer is a wine/Champagne person that I expected the beer to be explosively carbonated?

"Pinot noir" and "bomb" don't really belong in the same sentence. I'm unsure how one would even go about making a Pinot noir bomb.

The brewer is the son of Allan Scott, of New Zealand wine producing heritage. I find the beers to be excellent, nicely packaged, and a touch pricy. All very well made.

Moa's not an easy find. I only had their Tripel and honestly its one of the best beers I've had to date.
