Missed out on FIS. Missed out on KBS. Missed out on Black Note. Missed out on too many beers recently. Going to get some of this for sure.

God, don't I wish... I'd love to see Bell's come to MA. Almost certainly not going to happen for some time, though, at the very least.

Duly noted on the sarcasm. I was saying that it was odd how Narwhal wasn't mentioned when people were naming off these stouts. With that many reviews in that short of a beer life is respect from the community. Raspy not being mentioned is also blasphemy. It is still awesome how many outstanding stouts there are, proof as such as those were both not mentioned.

This will be sitting next to FIS, Ten Fidy, Stone's Expresso and newly acquired Narwhal in my fridge. Just waiting for the ridiculous summer heat to die down a little. Maybe I'll just crank up the A/C for a few hours.

Gotta give a shout out to my home state Great Lakes Blackout. B.O.R.I.S. is also great, but technically an oatmeal and not a RIS

Yes, I'm having espresso right now and it's still 90 out. That's no excuse not to drink a good stout!

Totally disagree. In my experience imperial stouts start going downhill after 2 or 3 years. I haven't made it that far with FIS yet but 7 year old Expedition and Bell's Batch 7000 were both near awful.

Never had a bad Expy 2-3 years older or more, and just cracked one of my 7,000 bottles less than a month ago and it was still very very solid.

Was that 7 year old Expedition cellared properly? The only 7+ year old bottle of Expedition I've had was mind-blowingly good.

Um, B.O.R.I.S. = Bodacious Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout. I think it qualifies as RIS. Also, it's delicious.

Confirmed today that this was at the general store and it was very good as expexted and makes me look forward to this years BNS. They have some tasty offerings on tap now including a rum barrel aged baltic porter.
