It's not your timing at fault here. Contrary to one mans opinion, White Oak is not common. You'll find it (this year anyway) January, May, and September. When it is released, it doesn't stay on the shelf very long.

Hopefully those 120bbls can allow for a bit more in the future, but the last few releases the White Oak disappears fairly quickly, and not much escapes the Tampa Bay area.

When I was working by the stadium in Tampa from Oct-Mar this past year, I saw it for weeks at the TW on Dale Mabry.... never picked any up. :slight_frown:

Now, that I want it, I never saw it in May around here.... will have to be on the lookout any day now for the Sept release.

Plenty of fresh Jai Alai around here. Also a lot of Cucumber Saison also at ABC. Haven't seen Maduro in a while though.

Normally it's pretty abundant down here (Ft. Lauderdale/Pompano Beach) however I was at 2 Publix a Whole Foods and Total Wine this weekend and none to be had. Plenty of Florida Cracker but that was about it.

From what I've observed, at least at the Publixes I go to, it doesn't get stocked every week.

I've observed that for some reason Jai Alai vanishes very quickly from my beer fridge. I could have sworn I put a 6er in there yesterday, and today there's only one can left? Time to install a security system I reckon, damn neighbors must be drinkin' muh beer.

Ended up finding some hiding on a shelf in a Publix I don't normally shop at yesterday afternoon. That being said it's almost 2 weeks old. But hey it's Jai Alai and it's still gonna be great all day today!

There is nothing wrong with 2 week Jai Alai.

Some folks on here take the "fresh" thing too extreme, when reality is nobody can tell a difference in 1 day or 1 month Jai Alai.

Has anyone noticed the latest couple batches seem to have an off flavor different from the previous generations of Jai Alai? I wonder if they havent fully figured out everything since the new installations.

Gunhaver hinted at a change in the recipe, but he could have been just F'in with us again.

    I doubt it.

But should i ever meet you out somewhere, i'd love to see you do a blind test.

I once thought i could, then i tried and failed. Now try something 6 months vs. fresh, sure. But after a few weeks there is no discernible difference IMO.

Sure Ray, I would love for you to buy me a couple of beers

I've noticed a loss of hoppiness with 3 week old Jai Alai compared to a 3 day old (drinking side by side)
I must admit that it could potentially just be inconsistencies from batch to batch.
I've also had 3 month Jai Alai that was just as good as fresh.
Either way I do notice differences from batch to batch, not in a bad way.
Also just had 2 FL Crackers side by side that were canned 10 days apart from each other and noticed slight differences

I think theres a better chance of batch variation than loss of hops over a short period of time, such as 3-6 weeks.

I used to get aggravated at the posts of, "i left xxxx on the shelf because it was 3 weeks old" but now i get excited...more on the shelf for me!

I have no problem drinking month old jai alai. But if there is week old sitting next to it on the shelf I'll grab that
