It all depends on the store and their shelf/cooler. If the store has the type of cooler that only fits bottles, then they'll likely remove the individual boxes in order to get the bottles to fit.

Hm, interesting. I've never seen that. I'm just passing on what I've seen and been told about 2012 by a couple of local bottle shops, which also stock boxed FW releases.

I haven't had the 2013, but I agree with you on the 2012. Much to one dimensional IMO

i thought i was crazy for enjoying it fresh more. did a side by side at fw when i was there after the release and liked 2013 more! did just open a bottle of 2012 and greatly enjoyed it, but being able to have them together was very helpful for me

Still have a 2012 No. 001 DDBA, any ideas on what this could fetch on a trade? Looking for some BA Stouts and good sours...

Technically not, BCBVS was a $15 beer

/001 DDBA is still on shelves here....

If you had a BCBVS would you trade it 1:1 for a DDBA?

Why not just drink it? I don't even bother trading out FW seasonals because they're incredible, not too difficult to get compared to other, more hyped beers, and, lastly, you'll likely get inferior beer in trade because everyone's saving their trade bait for BCBS and its variants.

FW -bal stuff doesn't generally fetch much in trade because the bottle counts are so high (PNC and older anniversary vintages being obvious exceptions). As someone said, Batch 1 DDBA is still sitting on shelves here in SoCal. You should drink and enjoy and not worry about trading it.

Was just curious about the value of DDBA but when one said it could possibly fetch a BCBVS my curiosity grew bigger for obvious reasons. My comment about trading 1:1 was only to point out that just because something once cost $15 doesn't make it worth $15 today. Anyway, I'll most likely drink my last 001 DDBA but thought I'd at least check the BA community before doing so. Thanks for the feedback guys.

It does come boxed. At my shop we have it in boxes on a dry shelf, and unboxed in the cooler.

Apparently squids think a lot alike.

Friends don't let friends trade Firestone seasonal beers. I will never understand why anyone trades away a parabola. You're not going to get an equally tasting beer for that $4$ range, and even if you trade for something like Darklord or Darkness, you're better off drinking the parabola and saving yourself shipping.

Check your sarcasm detector. They were simply expelling a good amount of it. Besides, older vintages of FSW stuff can be found at the the barrel works, if it's not this current season's, than it's probably, at best, marked up $10-15 for last year's vintage and in that increment for the following year. But like many have said, you can still find DDBA batch 1 for cost on the shelves of many bottle shops.

The best way to find out is post an ISO:FT and put something you want and see if you get any responses. Worse case crickets or actually worse case is you post something like DDBA for BCVS and abunch of threadsitters give you so much crap you take it down. You might get constructive feedback and adjust your offer if you so desire.

FW releases usually trade for other hard to find shelf beer. I have a BA trader in Indianna who loves FW and he usually hooks me up with FFF, NG, and BCBS.

Of course I usually keep a few FW releases for myself.

I feel like value threads always come back to BCBS, and I only make this problem worse.

DDBA might trade for a BCBCS on the high end. Almost no chance on BCBVS. More likely a couple of regular BCBS.

    However, this is dead on:

You're usually better off just drinking it
