Edina liquor on York has a ton of Sculpin @ $14.99, the other six packs are $9.99, VaS & Sea Monster were around $9.

Anyone know if the Julian code is it on the bar code?

Ballast Point: As of April 2013, uses a bottling date. It's a Julian date code. First two digits represent the year, next three digits is the Julian date. Ex: 13094 would be April 4th, 2013.

Not Avery bashing at all. I love Avery's brews. I am just saying I would rather have Ballast Point here than Avery, if it's one or the other.

It'll be a sad day when Stone and Ballast Point pull out my market . . . .

their situations have nothing to do with one another. Avery took off some time ago, as did other beers/breweries/distributors/importers. To single them out makes it seem you're making some qualitative comparison, which is unfair and ridiculous. Everyone piled on and it seemed like insipid bullying.

Avery was an early craft brewery for me (introduced me to huge stouts and strong ales) and although they make some pretty good stuff, I didn't buy anything from them for years and I won't miss 'em. Very excited about Ballast Point.

The boxes the six packs come in have a bottled on date. At Edina liquor they are 8/23/13.
