Well said James. I agree 100% Thanks for throwing a bit of logic at the issue.

So on-site consumption is suggested in order to cut down on hype. I can get that.

I just kind of don't like it because then only people near by or willing to travel get to try it. I guess that will at least satisfy the locals/most loyal...
Sure it's nice that there will be more for us, but why not share with people elsewhere, if viable?

You would have to travel to buy bottles to go as well. That didnt change. The only difference is that instead or returning home with one bottle you already drank your one bottle at the brewery.

You have it wrong. Yours went in too early. By the time they said go, it was about 7:01 or 7:02. I did mine at 7:00:15 and was too early. My girlfriend did it a minute or two later and we got it.

Yes, but some people are going to share, give away, or trade their bottle, helping more people try it. I would save it for a bottle share. There's also the option of selling it, which isn't cool but a trade-off for helping others try it.

Sure, it's bad if someone holds a bottle hostage in exchange for a case of turdwhale X or $100. But in the end someone will get to drink it and enjoy it. It might not be one of us, but it'll still be someone who likes craft.

What if its a one bottle limit? Im all for sharing but when you read the AR post and trades its #walezbro. On-site consumption forces you to drink the beer because you want to drink it not go get it because you can get "walez" for it

If you can get walez for it, it is a whael, therefore you should just drink it...

I am an advocate for sharing good beer.

This beer is so limited that there is no reason to share it by trading and muleing bottles for others. Maybe batch 3 or 4 will be like that but batch one is not. On site consumption is the only way to go with such a small batch.

I like bottles even if it's one bottle because labels are awesome.

I'll trade you a bunch of labels for a bunch of beer

Sorry to revive this, but I just wanted to reiterate that I think this is true.

I'd buy way more Saint Arnold if they had awesome label art like Jester King. Not that I don't love Saint Arnold.

You should start trading for FFF then. I think they've stopped even caring about brewing beer any more for the sake of label art

You'd buy WAY more SA if they had awesome labels? Umm, does the label make the beer taste better? I'm confused, I love JK labels, and I collect one empty of everything I drink and have them up in teh garage, but I wouldn't buy more of one beer because of a label, I buy beer because it tastes good. I don't drink labels.

I almost didn't post that because I knew someone would say something like this.

No, it doesn't make beer taste better, but if you have to equally good beers and one has a better label, I'm going with the better label.

Don't read into it too much.

I know... top notch IPAs constantly leaving the brewery and a slew of other great beers sure do suck... lol

Are you crazy?? 3F has some of the best IPAS I have had. Zombie Dust, Dreadnaught, apocalypse cow...

Not to mention some of their other offerings like gumbalhead, alpha king, arctic panzer wolf...

Don't get me wrong I've had all of those and enjoy them. But I think everything that comes out of FFF is crazy hyped. How can they get away charging $40 for BA Behemoth or hell $25 for the regular version. And don't even get me started on that drainpourapalooza that is DL. But as usual I'm crazy for having a different opinion.

Oh and 3F = Drie Fonteinen and FFF = 3Floyds

Behemouth is $15 for the regular FYI.

All their barrel aged beers are crazy money. And people pay it hand over fist. As long as it's not an attempt at making a sour, it's probably pretty good. Sours = no bueno lol

Yes, you are crazy... for many reasons...
