I am considering entering one later this summer. Could anybody point me to some resources?

    Thanks!

What kind of resources are you looking for? I entered this one last summer; are you looking for how the beers were judged, or BJCP guidelines, etc.? Just an FYI, the guys who won awards last year did well on the state and national level, so its a big comp.

    Thanks for the links.

Yeah, I just wanted to hear what a hombrew comp is all about. I know about style guidelines and all that... just curious about the overall experience. Do you find that it is a pretty fun weekend?

I don't expect to do well, I have a pretty rudamentry set up and not a lot of experience, but I thought it could be a fun way to try other's beers and learn a little more about my own brews.

I wasn't able to attend all the fun stuff last year because of work, but from what friends told me, it was a good time.

I entered two subpar beers last year and two solid ones and received great feedback on all four. I think its totally worth submitting to, especially for recipes that you've only brewed once or twice and want some feedback on. Entering competitions and joining/going to club meetings has led to a huge improvement in my beer quality, plus, its fun to go drink beer and talk about brewing!
